John saying incubi aren't space marine killers did actual psychic damage to me. Bro that's our best combat unit. 😢

Amazing video. So good to get a summary of what you will be facing without having to read all the rules.

Very very good video.
There are so many videos, in general not just here, about what your army does. But doing it from the perspective of "what to think about when you meet this army" is a very nice take.

Thanks for making this video John. This is a helpful primer for anyone playing 11th edition

This was a great video. I'm a new Space Marine player and new to the hobby and this helped me understand more of what my army can do, how predictable it can be, and it's other strengths and weaknesses. I didn't play in 10th, spent a lot of time building and painting during that time, but looking to get into some games in 11th. Even if this video wasn't for me it still was very informative and pleasant to listen too.

Lieutenants can also imitate the captains call to a doctrine from another squad they're attached too.

Hunter:null not working against sisters of silence is diabolical.

Something something dakkarig something something tankbustas

Looking forward to tie up a SM army twice in a row either my Tau 😂

Great video 😊 keep up the work boys! You're the best Warhammer nerds on the internet!

0:30 channeling Nick (the boss) “No it’s ok, Space Marine players can watch this too!” Edit: joking aside, I’m only 1/2 thru and there are great points for SM players. Asking about Hunter (everyone) and JL’s story about managing doctrines.

My breachers shotguns going from 4+ to wound with rerolls to 5+ with rerolls is a big hit to their ability to clear objectives, which they were pretty good at. No difference vs terminators though 😂

@Lmwpitt 1 hour ago

Can only imagine that Space Marines will come out of all this weaker than before.
Stripping out vast majority of hit & wound re--rolls is a huge knock to reliably wounding targets, and several chapters saw a reduction in their extra rules to distinguish them apart.

as an iron hands player, I just want to point out that stacking hit debuffs does NOT work against us, feirros, techmarines, storm of fire and so on, we have a LOT of ways of ignoring a lot of modifiers

Thanks John.

Just played against the new custodes codex and got tabled at the end of turn 2. We both called it in 3rd turn because there was nothing that could realistically be done. It was not a good time. My spacemarines folded like an omelet.

@thomaswells5389 17 hours ago

101 = it’s rubbish 😂 I sent mine back

@guysguyguy-u1j 18 hours ago

Expect to trade down about 20~25% at minimum against space marines. Expect to eat more wounds across the board. Bring invul saves and anti weapons and rerolls if you want any level of even trading. Also you will be charged, early and often.

I'm a big fan of Iron Hands... I especially loved Hammer oA in the End of the last edition. Because Ironstorm was just boring and sooo inflexible and clunky. Yeah, a lot of the time you'd just shoot your opponent and win... I think the whole thing is soooo much better now that you have natural access to Doctrines. I don't think damage is a problem. But the question is, what should I pair it with if I’m just playing Medusan’s Wrath? Ironclad or Terminator—that’s obviously the lore-correct choice. But what’s good? What do I actually need? And if the answer is “Play Gunline with Gullibernd,” I don’t want to hear it😂

Less durable?
Innate 5+ FNP

Against ap0, guilliman is more durable with 5+ fnp

Against ap1, guilliman is more durable with 5+ fnp

Against ap2, lion stays on 3++ and guillimam goes to 4++
BUT, guilliman still has 5+ fnp. And guess what? 4+ invuln with 5+ fnp is indentical to a 3+ invuln for damage reduction

Against ap3 and up, guilliman stays on 4+ invuln and so therefore, is identical to lion

So guilliman is actually more tanky if mortals or psychic isnt the focus
