They wanted longer lives. The Star Gods gave them immortality—and consumed their souls.

Before the Necrons became the metal skeletons sleeping beneath entire planets, they were the Necrontyr: a civilisation haunted by sickness, short lives and bitter rivalries. Then their ruler, Szarekh—the Silent King—accepted an offer that changed them forever.

In this episode of The Grim Record, we follow the bargain with the C'tan, the horror of biotransference, the War in Heaven, and the rebellion that turned gods into weapons. But even revenge couldn't restore everything the Necrons had lost.

Was the Silent King trying to save his people, secure his power—or both? Let us know what you think.
