This week, our Turkey vanlife adventure starts with an incredible drive from the spectacular Dark Canyon near Kemaliye, before we find a park-up close to the busy picnic area at Ağın.
After a day catching up on a few vanlife jobs — including fixing the gas hob — Sarah puts the Omnia oven to good use and bakes a cake! 🍰
We then head to the fascinating town of Divriği, where we explore its impressive castle and visit the incredible UNESCO-listed Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital, one of the most remarkable historic sites we've discovered on our travels through Turkey.
From there, we move on to the stunning Şuğul Valley. What starts as a beautiful walk through this spectacular gorge — despite spotting numerous snakes along the way! 🐍 — soon turns into one of those days we won't forget.
When the path runs out, we decide to send the drone further up the canyon to see what lies beyond…
BIG MISTAKE! 😬
The drone crashes straight into the cliff face on the opposite side of the river. Despite our best efforts, the fast-flowing water and steep cliffs make reaching it impossible. Is this the end of our drone?
We finish this episode at one of the biggest picnic areas we've ever seen near Kayseri, as we continue our campervan journey across Turkey.
NEXT TIME… we finally reach the incredible landscapes of Cappadocia and take to the skies for an unforgettable hot-air balloon flight! 🎈
