As a green, voting for labour here is kind of pointless. Its just another labour MP to add to the 200+ parliament majority. Its not like adding another labour MP will give Burnham's government more power.

At the very least, whether you like him or not or agree or disagree with the recent green party conference motions. zack's presence as green party leader in parliament would at least influence and pull Burnham's government to more progressive policies on the left.

The biggest issue facing Britain is inequality of wealth. That’s what is preventing much needed work being done.

It would be great if everyone engaged with that fact that a UK party adopting an internal policy/ideology does not mean that they are suddenly able to A) be in govt and create literal UK foreign policy B) magically undermine USIsrael white western supremacist hegemony and dismantle any colonies. All it means is that the party are confirming a position/ideology for the party and forcing a conversation.

Should Palestinians be able to make the decisions IF we ever do enough to help them fight for the right? Obviously! A Palestinian tabled the motion and Palestinians fought for it. It is a position and not something that precludes something else happening.

If you are not sure what Palestinian feels about one/two state options, IF we ever fight hard enough to help them get that choice, then try listening to some. Latest Pal Deep Dive ep has a little start on that for you and you could always ask the actual Palestinians that host it.

In truth the Greens have the answers on social housing. Labour do not. Labour has reintroduced spin doctoring yet again, which sounds ok but does nothing

Inheritance tax is right because it gives some people, but not others, a huge head start and increases inequality and unfairness. Wealth needs to circulate, not be hoarded. Alongside other reforms, it makes sense (also closing loopholes for the rich shouldn’t be that hard! If they flee, we’ll learn to live without them, if they return they pay an entry tax penalty based on matching the tax they avoided.)
The vibes around these things and tax in general need to change!

Saying houses can't keep going up at a crazy rate is to discount the accelerated devaluation of the currency. Inflation will silently tax all but the real asset owners into serfdom

On the point that Zack didn't vote on the motion at conference - instead focusing on an important bye-election - is not a big issue with a one-man-one-vote process. Even if he spoke privately during the conference session, the majority of the new members (specifically joining based on Zack calling out the genocide) would have not been persuaded.

In my area, transport / connectivity is so bad my local green party has its meetings outside of our boundary in the nearest city.

The command to enjoy is the terrifying fundamental injunction of the superego. "Make sure you like  - it doesn't cost a thing"?  It costs everything.

I get tired of people bringing up bookies in those things as calling anything. The odds are informed by betting volumes so at best they reflect the opinions of pundits but in reality a few big bets can massively sway the odds.

With political gambling in particular where the odds can weigh on the result there is also an advantage of trying to deliberately skew the odds in your favour. We have some evidence of reform doing this for example.
