I've owned 4 sportsters my last one was a 03 anniversary and now I have a 2020 XL1200 Iron and it was a big change getting use to a fuel injection motor from a carburetor . I've had bigger Harleys but I love riding sportsters , they are so much fun !!
My first Sportster was a 2011 XL883N which I bought new, last year I bought a 2009 XR1200, these two are totally different animals, both great i8n their own way, but the XR is a beast.
Bought one these after few years not riding having kids. Rode it for a year then installed hammer1275kit, upgraded a few things like shocks and bars. Been riding it 4-5 years now❤
Wanted a Harley for over 50 of my riding years. Saved the funds and found a 2005 Sportster 1200 custom XL. Bought the shop and parts manuals for it this was 3 years ago. Love to ride this bike had 6000 now has 21,000. Have it tuned to 50+mpg clean pipes and love the way it sounds cold lope. Hot smooth and clean. lots of torque. Never lug it. we ride year around, just not on the ice.
My first Harley was a 1992 883 Standard that I bought new in November of 1991. It was the cheapest H-D you could buy. It had a black tank and was $4495 without any fees; just taxes, title and plates.
