Mal from New Rory & Mal says there’s one thing he wants to see when it comes to AZ Chike and Kendrick Lamar: what does this relationship look like a year from now?

Mal gives AZ credit for the way he currently speaks about Kendrick — calling him a friend, praising how much Kendrick helps him in the studio and saying being around him has increased his “music IQ.” But Mal wonders whether that same tone will remain once the current album moment has passed.

So Rory is saying that Kendrick sitting with Chike for 8 hours a day for months, and helping him curate his album and giving him game and tools and advice and giving him a song that was supposed to be on GNX means nothing because they didn’t “verse swap.”

First, Drake sexuals said Kendrick wasn’t on Drake’s level of artistry, the battle happened, Kendrick went at Drake using 4 different rap styles and ended it with a hit. Then they said he don’t do nothing for LA artists and then he features LA artists on GNX. Then they said that wasn’t enough to get them artists popping and then boom, he won them all a grammy🐐 and now they’re complaining because of a made up beef between Kendrick and AZ Chike that they created in their heads. They aren’t healthy in the head.

Mal’s position is already invalid. GNX came out 2yrs ago.
Chike kept reach’n out to Dot and finally performed in one of his LA shows last yr.
Then when Chike’s album was leaked, Dot reached out & word is, he stayed in the studio w/ him for months, sequenced and damn near EP’d the album.
So the foundation, the relationship is set! Mal just be saying sh!t

Chike has been working on this album for damn near 2 years. Working with Dot AND everyone in Dot’s circle. He now has access to the best producers and collaborators in the game. It’s bigger than Dot. The man just helped to level Chike up. Mal is so fckn stewpid.

New week new narrative. If Kendrick was on the album, they would say he was holding Chike’s hand, he was doing too much, he was trying to steal the spotlight. No matter what, they’re going to come up with an asinine angle when it comes to Kendrick.
