The Story of Dhul-Qarnayn and Gog and Magog
Dhul-Qarnayn (Arabic: ذُو ٱلْقَرْنَيْن; literally translated as "The Two-Horned") is presented in the Quran, Surah Al-Kahf, verses 83-101, as the one who erected a barrier between a group traveling east and west and Gog and Magog. In other parts of the Quran, the emergence of Gog and Magog from behind the barrier is presented as the end of the world, while some authors present their sudden destruction by God in one night as the beginning of the apocalypse.
The word Dhul-Qarnayn is Arabic. The word is formed from the combination of the words "Zu," "al," and "karnayn." "Zu" means "owner and possessor," while "karn" means "horn, tuft, peak, time, sun." Karnayn is the dual form of "karn," meaning two of them. Therefore, the word Zulkarnayn is translated as "owner of two horns." Source: Wikipedia.
