Zoe really is a mix between Holly J and Peter's worst qualities and non of their redeeming factors.

how zoe avoided any legal action with this storyline was always baffling to me.

This storyline might be the epitome of 'Pure White Nonsense', which might explain why the punishment was a light slap on the wrist

I was actually starting to be a little less hateful towards Zoe's character, but this subplot ruined any and all sympathy I had for her.

The worst Degrassi character to me is Owen, especially when the show tried to redeem him when they gave Anya a çøķé addiction for like an episode to make him look superior in comparison. He’s was mean, bullied my favorite couple Zane and Riley, harassed girls (shall we recall Anya putting him on blast about him thinking he could “get any girl he wants”), and was honestly never good. I mean the guys who beat up Jane in season 7 or 8 or 9 were objectively worse, but the show never redeemed them (thank god). And Craig is terrible, but he rightfully got his addiction and lost his girlfriends. Owen never got that.

Zig: pushed Cam to suicide, put his little brother in danger over a drug dispute, put the Matlin's lives in danger over a gang war, almost got Maya stabbed by Tiny because of his stupid decisions, cheated on Tori, dated and led Esme on for a year knowing she was mentally unstable, cheated on Maya and lied to her for weeks only to benefit himself because Hunter had the video as proof, even though he doxxed Maya and was making her life an absolute hell by threatening to kill her and her family; continually bullied and called Hunter a psycho when he was seconds from snapping and causing another school shooting, stole the school dance money and ultimately caused his mother more stress by taking $50 from her to cover the debt when she was dirt poor and barely able to make ends meet, beat up Miles in the GREENHOUSE where Cam died showing the utmost disrespect towards him, called Maya "sloppy seconds" and ridiculed her in front of her classmates multiple times to embarrass her all the while claiming he was "so in love with her" when all he did was make her life absolute miserable.

idk what the writers were thinking with zoe. they gave her some storylines/conflicts in episodes (or across multiple episodes) that SHOULD have made her a more sympathetic character,  but she would throw any potential character development away by the next episode.she was so unlikable. i honestly feel like most of her interactions with the ENTIRE CAST were negative lmao. season 14 was full of issues, but how the writers thought zoe could conspire with the other girls to BREAK BECKY'S LEG, who chose to do the right thing and help to convict her own brother who assaulted zoe, is something i will never understand to this day. and yeah how she wasn't charged with anything because basically she's sowy is beyond me. tristan kind of bothered me in a similar way, but they quite literally threw his character under the bus so it resolved itself 😭

they don’t redeem Zoe until next class but she kinda ends up disowned for being a lesbian so idk how one is supposed to feel

I feel like they (the degrassi writers) tried to make Zoe into another Holly J, but the things Zoe does is so irredeemable, that her redemption arc/personality turnaround feels so forced and fake

Oh em gee! Season 14 and ESPECIALLY the Oomfchat storyline drove me clinically INSANE! The absurdity of the whole plot and each development just made me facepalm more and more, it was so all over the place. The writers literally called it quits and said 'oh what the heck, let's put this together and see what happens'

I hated these episodes not just because of the bad writing, but the fact they did all this with absolutely no teacher/adult supervision or oversight. It would've made sense for them to come up with this scheme after their advisor was like "oh we don't have money for competitions because we keep having expensive dances like every two episodes", which would've made more sense to do this and be completely under the table.  Frankie and Zoe's reasons for this were bs and I hate the writers made their insecurities everybody's problem. I can't stand Zoe and she really should've been expelled for this.

Yeah definitely mr.simpson may have beat cancer but I don't think anyone can work at Degrassi without loosing some part of them
