Most Americans have no idea what a cheese and onion is. Do you have a sarnie or a cold pie? As I told you a while ago, my dad lived in Cornwall for about three years in the early 80s and he grew fond of cheese and onion sammies. He would make them for me when I was a kid. So good!!! Now we don’t have all the best cheese to do it with so we would use medium cheddar and white onion instead of red but they were still good. I have had them the real way with red and green onion and Leicester and oh man they are so good!!!

Fuel is so dang expensive! Ugh. I am not a fan of politics or politicians…..and I will just leave it there. 😂😂😂

We all need a good rant to listen to, also I personally fast and that is what keeps me in check for the most part with my weight. Also the preservatives in all the foods we have these days is what I feel is our biggest issue. If its not on the outside refrigerated or fresh it is most likely terrible for you.

butter tea/coffee is a great way to curb hunger! when im fasting, to get past the hump of hunger pains i hit a double whammy of a pipe and a generous dose of butter in tea. this doubles if you make your own butter and ferment it! also found that if you can stick it out 3-4 days of fasting every month, your stomach stops controlling you and the pains arent nearly as atrocious as the first time you start fasting.

We never had water, in the 80s we had fire hydrants in our town and if you lifted the cast iron cover you could get a drink for free, also coke was only 20p. a  can 😊

There was a trade-off back in those days, we were waaay more active - only three channels on the box and nothing else to keep us indoors, sitting on our arses.. like mobile phones! When we were kids, if we got thirsty, we'd rap somebody's door and ask them for a drink, or find a puddle somewhere 😂Keep on rantin'.🤘

Yes, nicotine is a hunger suppressant.  I think it was Napoleon who recognised the importance of it for his troops.  The problem is the pouches nowadays make me extraordinarily thirsty.

Fairplay mate, enjoyed the rant! Was a different world completely when we were growing up, did what we liked! I tend to ignore the modern world as much possible and just do my own thing - mainly the same shit I always have.

I'd say everything in moderation is key. Don't be a glutton and gorge on 20 burgers a week, or drink a bottle of wine a day, or 2 packs of cigarettes a day... most health issues people have can be attributed to excess.

I understand the frustrations with the world. The current state of things pisses me off the be honest.  I'm sure you are already doing this but seek out the more joyful things that counter the negative. Christmas is commercialised, but our local village Cafe has an open seat Christmas dinner for anyone who has no one to spend Christmas with. I dont buy Cadbury's anymore either since its gone down the pot but theres a chocolatier a couple villages over that I get chocolate from now, It's far more expensive so I can't get it so often but I know the money is going to a bloke I could walk to if i wanted to.
Theres too much pull towards spending time on the internet but the internet also means i get to listen to folks like you expressing their point of view with a tasty pipe while I crack on with my leatherwork. I'm sick of how sanitised things seem so be society, but there are cracks in the vaneer they put up and inside those cracks are those like us with our dirty feat and tasty pipes

Try to find a meerschuam without a threaded tenon. I forgot what they’re called but you can find ones with a traditional tenon. The problem with threaded is that the peice warps over time and then the stem doesn’t want to screw in straight.

It’s not how many biscuits, it’s what’s in them nowadays. Many of us don’t like the world we live in anymore.

But is it a 'rant' when everything you're saying is accurate?

We have to vote with our fork a lot.  Support Regenerative Agriculture as much as we can. The idea that cattle are the reason for global warming is crazy.  That said the livestock model is broken & we need to reset to Holistic Regenerative Grazing. We can easily return the same as making coffee and we decide to plant a tree. Same thoughts, the same hands.  Sure it is easy to toss it all in.  After all that field is monoculture. The government is powerful I do get it feeling defeated.
