The minimal size for the B1G is 24 schools, which facilitates a reorganization into regional divisions, reactivating some traditional PAC rivalries, which expands the B1G into the Old South, and which adds real value with respect to eyeballs and revenue.

B1G(24): Notre Dame(inevitable), Miami, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Duke, Utah.

24 is the number for B1G despite someone in patc saying 20 is too much

Greg, 22 is not some random number drawn out of a hat. This is part of the negotiating stage of realignment. UNC knows the SEC wants them and will make sure they get them. The politics of NC may turn out to be more complicated than the SEC wants to admit, so may have to be more flexible. Same may be happening in VA. And let's not forget about the Mag 7 that Brett McMurphy first bandied about a while back.

What may be coming to light is if Disney can't save the ACC then they'll rather take as much value from the ACC in the South and place them in the SEC, securing that footprint for years to come. Programs like Duke, Miami and Georgia Tech may have to go to SkyDance and Fox to make the numbers work.

To the SEC: Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech

To the Big Ten: Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, Stanford

Domers rework their deal with the ACC to gain more flexibility to play B12, ACC, SEC and Big Ten teams on a rotation, some Army and Navy, some whoknows and some sowhats. Typical Domer schedule as always. And everyone will accept that because Domers gonna Domer.

How close are we to the ACC implosion now that the proposed PCSA has changed from a conference membership max of 19 to 20?  The power conferences will certainly want to expand before implementation of the 3 year waiting period for schools moving between power conferences. That could be a short window of opportunity and time is of the essence.

The SEC likely invites top ACC brands: FSU, Clemson, UNC, UVA to get to 20.

The B1G invites ND/Stanford or GT/Miami to get to 20 depending on ND decision about independence.

The B12 invite Louisville, Pitt, and either GT/Miami or VT/NCST to get to 20 again depending on ND decision about independence and the chain reaction from that decision.

The ACC is on the verge of being decimated, losing their power conference status, having to deal with the “composition clause” of their media rights contract, and maybe not survive at all.  It is time for the host of this channel to start addressing this likelihood in his monologues. That will certainly cause the views of this channel to explode. Could finalizing the college football playoff be the triggering event that begins the next round of realignment? “Enquiring minds want to know”.

1:05:21 I would not put it past Jim Phillips to have also lobbied for the 19 team & 5yr independence provision.

Miami is behind ND to the Big10 not UNC

The SEC wants to bring back the old SoCom
the SEC would be a big umbrela with smaller ones under it. 24 team and Silo

Anybody know why Cody Campbell is so anti-expansion?

Oh ffs the “Wolfpack backpack” is simply not a thing. That’s social media rumor 🐂 💩 that keeps getting repeated over and over 🙄

1st

Where was Miami when Notre Dame was bullying the ACC to add the California schools???  The ONLY evil actor is Notre Dame they steal from the smaller schools and are too greedy to join other teams. ND even used to keep a whole conference payout from the CFP for themselves and now have a guaranteed playoff spot for being ranked in the top 12 when they are always overrated.  ND last won a natty during the freaking Cold War and Norvell has more wins vs Bama in modern times.  Even Bobby Bowden RIP God bless him has a more recent win over Bama in 2009 then ND's Cold War win over Bama in 1987.

Big surprise the Florida State fans and sources always break the real news stories.  GO NOLES and the Florida state "sunshine law" for open government
