There's nothing glamorous about Hollywood.

Barbara Walters did an interview with Derek and Bo, and he clearly came across as someone who thought looks were everything. He was a complete narcissist and didn't even try to hide it. I felt sorry for Bo, who seemed nice.

Derek sounds like the kind of guy that serially marries younger and younger women reflecting his inability to grow up.

He looked like a male Elizabeth Taylor!

"Grooming him" for the glitz of Hollywood was probably exactly what happened I'm afraid

Having children with someone you never loved is not a good thing.

If it’s permissible to call a man beautiful then he certainly fitted that bill

John Derek acted like an SVENGALI with beautiful women who existed to be used and manipulated by him.

Unfortunately, he didn't achieve the stardom of being a Hollywood A list actor/director. Yes,  few remember John Derek. But, movie fans remember  James Dean,  Ursula Andress, & wow! Bo Derek. Tragic life of a handsome,  troubled man. Well done,  intriguing story, beautifully narrated☆♡.
RIP John Derek, now you are known🕊✨️🌟

What a messed up selfish life .

So obviously his mother raised a self-centered monster . Sounds redundant and cliché' to me . The narrator said that " to say he was a bad father was an understatement " . Typical .

Loved him as Joshua in the Ten Commandments.

I think he did a good job of alienating his own children himself.

The saying, "He traded her in for a younger model" is what comes to mind. How did he keep finding so many doppelgangers?

I don't see how he played any role in Dean's death.

For a short time John & Bo were the "It Couple" after their success in the movie "10".  That faded fast after there was no further follow-up of successful films.
John seemed to be plagued with bad decision making throughout his life.

Don’t forget Linda Evans. First Baers, then Andress dumped her for being “old”, then Evans, and finally Bo. But then look at how he was raised.

Dereck, sadly, a totally messed up human❤

An interesting and professional biography but I must point out that all Derek's mother's grooming and wishes for Derek to be comely had no affect on Derek's looks. It was pure genetics.

He was sick in my opinion the way that he exploited Bo Derek and Linda Evans and wanted them to be nude in movies, degrading them.
