Oops accidentally dropped early lol. Well enjoy !

Man it feels so weird seeing and hearing the version of the game that I grew up with being treated as the obscure and “lesser” version of the game.  That situation was basically the complete opposite for me when I was a kid considering I didn’t have much if any access to the internet as a kid so I had no clue that Sonic Unleashed was even ON the PS3/360. And if it was, I assumed it was the same as the Wii version I had. That was until I downloaded the demo on Xbox 360 and had my mind completely blown.

I personally don't agree with this version of the game being bad. Maybe it's just because I grew up with this version, as I played it before the HD version, but I actually like Sonic Unleashed on the Wii. Obviously, the HD version is the superior version, but I don't think the Wii version is that bad. It's more like comparing Sonic 1 on the Genesis to it's Master System version. Like, one version is clearly the version everybody knows while the other version is downgraded and lesser known but isn't a bad game in it's own right.
But I get it, it can be jarring for people who only play the HD version and prefer it. I prefer the HD version as well, but I don't think Unleashed on the Wii is that bad, but that's just me.

0:13  Erm actually there was the Java phone version ☝️🤓

Sonic unwiished is underrated. Like the level designs (especially for night) are better and simplified

The day levels on wii are great too imo, I love that we explore diffrent areas in the night levels even if the Werehog gameplay in the wii version is worse

I have nostalgia for the Wii version it was one of my first sonic games

Just wait until he hears about the Java version of Unleashed

Just a very small correction, if you're using the Classic Controller, the Werehog's attacks are mapped to the X and Y face buttons like on the Xbox, not the triggers. I have no idea why they mapped them to the triggers on the GameCube controller, it seems like an incredibly weird way to play a beat-em-up.

While the HD version has grown on me a lot since the Series X/PC recomp fixed the performance issues from the original release, I have a big soft spot for Unwiished. I can see why it's filtering for people who're primarily fans of the HD one since the alternate gameplay style is an acquired taste and the slipperiness takes some getting used to, but I find the night stages more interesting on the whole in the Wii version, and the art style is endearing.

It also makes me miss the days when releases of games for weaker hardware would be developed separately, specifically tailored for the machines they were intended to run on, as opposed to nowadays where Switch releases of multiplat games are just objectively inferior ports.

I honestly didn't know there was an unleashed Wii port until a few months ago. I would've loved to play it back when I had my Wii

0:37 Fun fact: This version of Unleashed was made by Dimps, the same people behind Sonic Rush, who’ll later work on Colors DS,—(winces thinking about Sonic Generations 3DS)…and nothing else…(winces thinking about Sonic Lost World 3DS)…absolutely nothing else…(winces thinking about Sonic 4)…and ABSOLUTELY nothing else.

7:01 And the Tornado defense levels. You forgot Tornado Defense

Unwiished is still GOATED, I personally prefer it over the PS3/Xbox version. Honestly the Werehog stages in this one are better, you can honestly speedrun alot of these stages under 10 mins and it feels satisfying.

Also the day stages are extremely fun tbh, the boost does make Sonic stiff but you can still work around it with jumping, side steping, and drifting to move more. Also I love the physics in this game that doesn't show up in the upscaled one, when you boost against the wall Sonic becomes flat like a cartoon and it's hilarious

I like how bro just casually accidentally uploaded the video early and said: “womp womp enjoy”

I think it’s way better. The levels have actual continuity to them as you progress from parts of an environment from level to level. Jungle Joyride for example you start in the village, climb the waterfall and end in the Gaia temple. In HD the level feels like just more of the hub world.

It's amazing to see people talk about the Wii/PS2 version, regardless of their opinion of it. This was the first verison I played, and while I love the HD version, it'll always hold a special place in my heart.

Cool we the early sf productions viewers

This version is literally secret rings and 06 and colors combined together

I honestly feel once you complete the Perfect Dark Gaia fight and Super Sonic calls “Here’s Sonic” (or whatever the game decides that playthrough), Sonic dashes into the UnWiished battle, rather than the cutscene… so you know… you can actually fight the final boss

Sad thing is it was found in the files that there were originally supposed to be Act 2/3’s for most of the day stages. Seems like they ran out of time so they repurposed what was done into bite sized missions.
