🔴 Jorge Santistevan, Secretary of Citizen Security for the Santa Cruz Department

The Secretary of Citizen Security, Jorge Santistevan, warned that the Public Prosecutor's Office has been infiltrated by criminal groups linked to drug trafficking, whose officials sought to neutralize the institution throughout the country and could soon have gained control of the State.

Santistevan indicated that the new interim Attorney General must conduct a thorough audit, continue with open cases, and move forward with the arrest of the leaders of key cases. He emphasized that the COSDEP (Special Council for Citizen Security) will work on security and state sovereignty strategies, preparing both the Attorney General and the government to face tough battles against organized crime.

The official warned that a drug trafficking offensive against the government could occur, and therefore insisted on the need to be prepared and strengthen security institutions.
