Orchids and Cats
I found this whimsical paper when I was shopping at Amazon for Stamperia papers, so I picked up two of the 8” x 8” packets for my next project. Yes, papers have a blue–green and pink color theme. My favorite album design is an adaptation of a Paul Ford work called Curiouser & Curiouser. I add an extra two pages, and skip adding the tunnels. Since the outside dimensions of the cover was 8 1/2" x 8 1/2", I thought it would be the perfect pattern to use so I could use complete full 8 “ by 8“ papers. That didn't work quite as well as I had planned. Apparently I got some measurements turned around someplace, so all the inner papers had to be cut down to size. Nevertheless, it is a lovely album and will hold lots of images. There is a secret pocket between each page which gives room large photo mats. I have included lots of photo corners and extra photo mats so you can put in 5" x 7" photos, 4" x 6" photos or 3" x 2 1/2" photos. There are roomy pockets to fit other photos in. I ran out of both of the orchids and cats collections before I was finished. I was not able to source another package without paying triple the price I paid for the originals. Ouch! So, I headed over to my favorite digital papers from Vectoria Designs and used some orchids from her new Collectors Compendium, and some cats from her Cat Junk Journal set. Luckily, the colors matched pretty well.
This photo album is 8¼” tall x 8½” wide x 2¾” deep. Photo corners in three colors are provided. As always, I would recommend that you write a little bit about each photo that you put in the book so your children and grandchildren won't have to wonder who's in the picture, and why was important to you. The price of this journal is $75.00 plus shipping and handling, if required, in the continental United States. All paper goods are sold as is. If the album featured has been gifted or sold, I can usually make another with the same theme, if the paper is still available. I print most of my paper from digital designs, but some of the album/journals are made with pre-printed paper, and that is often only available for a season or two after its release. Prices of new album/journals/folios may be different than this one. Because of the nature of hand crafting, the whimsy of creating, and vagaries of recollection, it is highly unlikely that any new iterations using this paper will be exactly the same as the first one. The journal should be unique to you.
