What is the EES in Europe? 🇪🇺✈️
The EES (Entry/Exit System) is a digital border control system of the European Union that records the entry and exit of travelers from non-EU countries during short stays.
Instead of relying solely on the passport stamp, the system records data such as:
📸 A facial photograph.
👆 Biometric data, such as fingerprints.
🛂 Passport details.
📅 The date and place of entry and exit.
The goal is to digitize and strengthen the control of European external borders and electronically record the length of each traveler's stay.
If you are a Mexican citizen traveling to Europe for tourism, the EES may apply to you when entering and leaving the Schengen Area.
