I like using analog gear to boost the gain over a few units and then using a limiter just to tame any peaks. A clipper before the limiter is cool too to further reduce the load on the limiter.

Nice explanation. Thank you. Could you consider a series of videos about mastering, specifically with Ozone 11? I believe that this is a great suite, although many engineers prefer individual plugins. Thank you again! Cheers!

I use the Ozone limiter, IK Multimedia Stealth Limiter, Acustica Audio Ivory and Lace limiters, the liniter on the God Particle and the limiter on the Master Plan and I use the Softube Weiss Maximizer

Booth gives me excellent loudness

I don't think TP limiter purposely dull the transient. All it does is internally re-calculating the ceiling using 4x or 8x oversampling depends on the plugin, then lower it more than what it is set by the user. 0.3 or 0.4db internally. When the ceiling get lowered, more limiting happening compared to non-TP limiting. Obviously it will sounds like transient getting smashed more in comparison.

that Pro L at the end is set as True Peak though

I want my hair limited like that

Would you ever use a limiter on a drum bus and then again on the master or is that too redundant? I’m a rookie hobbyist, but thought maybe that lets you push drums to get them punchy without distorting things.

omg...please there is no attack on limiter like in compressor , attack is zero on limiter , please read the manual before creating confusion..
"The attack knob is the most confusing part of the plugin. It’s tempting to assume function akin to the attack time on a traditional compressor, where it controls the slope of gain reduction, and making it longer allows more transient to pass through.

A bit of critical thinking suggests that can’t be the case, though: If more transient did pass through, how would the limiter still limit at the ceiling? How would it effectively limit at all?

Instead, the attack time is a crossover point; a digital fork in the road. "
