As a motor engineering student we taken from college to visit the Chevron works located within a former cotton mill. I was amazed at the simple technology of the day producing such power on the track
Back in 1972, we acquired a Lola T212, which came with a Cosworth FV series engine. It was 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder, with a cast iron block and a magnesium head. It was DOHC 4 valves per cylinder and a 9000 rpm red line. What a great sounding engine! The 3.0 liter DF series F1 engines came a bit later. Those were basically V8 versions of our FV series engine.
