I sell vintage clothes, and there's very specific vintage hypebeasts within the vintage community, the "true vintage" hypebeast that wears all the oldest, rarest, most expensive piece, or the t-shirt guys who all wear the same crazy all over print mosquito heads, band tees, or 3D emblems. The main theme is they all gravitate to and wear the most expensive and rare pieces, even if they don't look good together or the colors don't match, and it's all about the hype, how much it is, how much of a deal they got it for, how they got it, etc. Instead of trying to buy the latest Supreme drop during morning algebra and reselling it on grailed, kids are going to the bins and getting in fights over Carhartt jackets, while starting a depop side hustle instead.

It’s so annoying now, because resellers buy up all the stock no matter the price and will just sit on them for months to years at double price while no one buys anything.

I remember back in early 2018 I queued together with my dad at the london Supreme store just to go in and have a look. Pretty cool times tho and very nostalgic
