Very sad to discover in the comments that Lt Orlando Rogers died in a helicopter crash in 2011. He seemed like a superb young officer. I have great respect for the Royal Marines, one of the finest fighting forces in the world.
Since i was a kid i've had looked up and had much respect to men in uniform especially to soldiers. Giving your life on the line 'so that others may live ' is the greatest sacrifice of all.
As if Lt Rogers died? 2006 and he was 21, 5 years later he dies in a helicopter crash aged just 26, RIP to such a respected Officer of the Royal Marine Commandos
We got told by our drill sergeants in Army basic years ago one morning we were taking "LPC's" out to the range. We thought "Cool!" We were really disappointed as we started our ruck march that LPC's were "Leather Personnel Carriers". This is some of the best, non-PC training I've seen.
Watched this documentary a fair few times now including when first aired. Said to have only just looked in to alt Orlando Rogers to see where he is now to find he died in plane crash in 2011. Rest easy royal.
Talk about a baptism of fire with those troops going walk abouts and having to find your fellow squaddies with no sleep in 3 days... thats a fantastic way to bond these gents.
