The Idaho Trappers Disappeared. Searchers Found Something Waiting in Their Camp | Creepypasta
Void of Cryptids
560 views
November, 1987. Five experienced trappers walked into the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, the largest stretch of wild country in the lower United States. They never walked out.
When a three-man search team finally reached their camp, the fire was cold, the food was untouched, and five sleeping bags were still laid out in a row. One line of enormous footprints led straight to where the men had been sleeping, and then simply stopped. A rifle hung from a pine branch twelve feet off the ground.
And that first night, something in the trees started calling out to the searchers in the voice of a trapper who had been missing for twelve days.
Retired search and rescue volunteer Ray Dunning has kept quiet for almost forty years. Now he's telling the full story of what they found in that camp, what was waiting in an old cabin deep in the Chamberlain Basin, and the backwards footprints that followed him home.
