It's kind of hilarious how Konami took the criticism of "Sacred Cards is too easy" and decided to make its sequel a literal Kaizo Trap (Card).

So I loved Sacred Cards as a kid, it was one of my all time favorite GBA Games.

So when I heard of Reshef, I was excited for it!

Then I played it and it was too friggin hard to the point where I deleted my save file and started over as I couldn’t get pass the boss.

Years later I downloaded the rom and gameshark it and made it so I was OP.

I can cheat too, game!

My favorite thing about this game is that there’s a code that replaces Reshef with Goemon Impact, just to bring home the point that Konami is screwing with you.

This game was notorious and infamous some in the community dubbed this the "dark souls of yu gi oh" games

I remember buying this game over 20 years ago. I still have it, and to this day, I cannot finish it. The game is against you.

I beat this but in absolute need of the god cards, especially Ra Phoenix Mode.  I don't know how anyone beats this without the god cards, except with extreme luck.

Sacred Cards = Easy Mode
Reshed of Destruction = Shadow Realm Mode

I beat this game out of pure spite. I stopped feeling any joy by the time I was dueling robot monkeys

When this dropped as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh early days collection, it's the only game in the collection where I felt like I needed to use the cheats they provided in the game selection menu

I got this game for my birthday when I was a kid lol. I haven't beaten it to this day. It's a torture device disguised as a GBA cartridge.

The economy is fucked

No matter how many times I see videos about this particular Yugioh  game it always goes back to me turning to younger me and going: Thank God we only played sacred cards and beat that game.  I was always having a Yugi and Atem moment when Reshef is involved  lol.

This game is genuinely one of the most unfair and bullshit games I have ever played in my life. Even if the Early Days Collection has cheats to make it a little more manageable, the bosses having unfair advantages over you is something the cheats can’t help. I really wanted to love this game, the original story was genuinely pretty enjoyable to experience, there some good variety in the bosses decks, running around the world to find all the Millennium Items like a traditional RPG is so cool, etc. If this game’s difficulty balancing was better, it genuinely would be one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh games, I really liked The Sacred Cards. And even if Sacred Cards was too easy, I’d rather take a game that was easy but still very fun, rather than a game that is so bullshit hard I want to snap the cartridge in half.

The worst part of this game: That square that scans the board every turn. It's excruciating to deal with when Slider is out.

Reshef reminded me of Japanese Mario 2. The 1st Mario game was challenging but nothing out of this world, but then Mario 2 released and it was basically a challenge run with a lot of unfairness mixed in, like getting warped to an earlier world and essentially losing progress.

I call this game bully the rare hunter simulator

I just realized that most YGO games have covers that trick you into believing that you going to play with the main characters but you almost never do. 😂😂😂

The day I beat this game was one of the most glorious days of my childhood!

For new players:
Dark Flare Knight and Ra Phoenix mode are very good in this game. First Dark Flare Knight: You just discard it and will came back instantly as Mirage Knight and then next turn as Dark Magician + Flame Swordsman. Now Ra Phoenix Mode: You just discard it and you will get Ra's normal mode for free on the field and you know the three god cards in this game are immune to everything except Stat Decrease.

Also good cards are cards that will get you copy of the card itself or creates a card out of nowhere like Doron. Then what I think is a must is Kuriboh + Multiply.

If you can keep it alive then the Great Moth line is also pretty good because it evolves itself automatically after every turn.

Also decent cards are Vampire Lord and Dragon of a Different Dimension. You can just discard them and they will come back every turn when they are defeated as long there are the top card of your graveyard.

Another tip is use lots of monsters that have advantage over the Bosses. Reshef is mostly using Dark and Fiend Attributes so you should use Light and Dream monsters. And when you are lucky they are surviving enough that you get the God cards out.
