I've been to Raro several times this century. It's the ideal Pacific island because it's large enough to have some interesting, epic sights. But still small enough to get around the island quick & easy (whether I rent dirt-cheap bicycles or sometimes use Raro's busses to get around). My favorite travel activity has always been nature photography of the glaring, colorful, otherworldly scenery that Rarotonga & other Pacific paradises show me in amazing, copious amounts. Raro has such a comfy, "island-time" ambiance, it feels like an exotic home away from home.
