You forgot that Bishop gives you white magic x2 so Linhardt can get 2 warps

7 more years of 3 houses discourse

There’s been a random uptick in 3H content lately, and I’m an ultra fan of it

*me quietly cheering for Ashe here even though I know he's shit 😭* atleast my sweet boy is in the Blue Lions

21:00 lmaooo I knew the Caspar hate was coming after those SS streams

Havent watched it all but I will always take your word for it.

Dimitri is THE reason I did my maddening run on Blue Lions. Having only done two playthroughs at that moment. I still wasnt a master of the mechinics but hes just so good. Absolute monster.

Ignatz should at least be bottom A. He's one of the only units that becomes better on Maddening thanks to his utility. Rally speed and +20 Hit is extremely valuable early game. I always go Axe/Bow to patch up his strength and he doesn't struggle with axe's hit rates. Once he gets Death Blow put in sniper or assassin and he's done

Make a video showing how you would build the units and which routes you would go with them

Thanks for the video! Very entertaining and informative list, and I found myself agreeing with a lot more than I expected to! Glad people are still engaging (heh) with the game. It's always fun to see how other people end up running characters and how it works out for them.

It's also quite tough to make a straightforward tier list for the game because a good number of characters perform wildly differently in different scenarios (mostly route choice, but also playstyle and difficulty).

Interesting that you lean into Prt stacking Ferdinand in SS - I know a lot of people prefer to spec into his avoidance capabilities, but I suppose that takes longer to get rolling. Regardless, it's hard to go wrong with a swift strikes unit (just don't try using him outside of Black Eagles, because oof).

Ingrid's also quite different between in-house and out of house. Avoid stacking is broken so it's always valid to embrace the noodle arms, but if I'm using her on a Blue Lions playthrough I'm actually a big fan of going the magic route with her. Takes a bit of early investment but if you can get her caught up, having a mage that's fast and bulky enough to actually scrap on maddening is pretty cool. She's also a fantastic dancer candidate that benefits from physic/thoron access that you can either plan for or fall back on as needed.

I once tried to salvage Ignatz' noodly late game by foregoing experience and damage completely and keeping him as a roster-filling pure support (trickster is ideal but assassin also gets shade) and it was really fun and kept him going the whole game long.

I feel like my experience with the DLC characters was quite different than yours (except for Balthus; the man's ubiquitously a monster).

Very much agree with Hapi's placement, but I've never been impressed with her combat, just her incredible spell utility and the fact that her personal + impregnable wall completely trivializes monster maps. I haven't been overly impressed by Yuri (not disappointed either, but nowhere near Bernie-level), though I'm partly to blame because I haven't tried Sniper and I'm typically running Fetters on my dancer instead.

I feel like Constance is, in fact, leagues ahead of the other magic users (barring Lysithea). She ends up with the highest magic in the game due to the way level ups work, and this is further exacerbated by her access to ward and rescue, spells that give large amounts of experience that she can use on the side to skyrocket her levels (especially on maddening) without taking experience from your other units. Combine that with bolting and an enormous-range rescue, both of which can get extra uses from her crest and you've got yourself an absolute war crime of a unit.

I think Demitri is the best unit too; though I like running him as a war master w/ killer knuckles. It’s a beautiful sight watching all those the enemies get destroyed

IMO, you're undervaluing Frozen Lance on Hubert + Marianne. They have very early access to FL since it's a budding talent, and Marianne can even take it to Paladin or Falcon Knight for Lancefaire. Also, Hubert has pretty good early game utility with (1) his status-inducing dark magic spells and (2) Rally Magic.

Some of these placements are more due to playstyle choices.  Mercedes and Linhardt both being kind of low is a good example - if you play with a team that relies on a heal bot, they are both significantly better.  Both can res-tank which is not to be underestimated, especially with early-mid game mages being fast enough to double your low Res physical units.  Rallies are great but the Unit suffers from getting no XP for it early (i.e. Annette, Ignatz) and so they fall behind stat-wise when you are already working from behind in that manner due to Maddening outpacing so quickly.  I'd also suggest Catherine does indeed fall off, once she can no longer quad, as her speed and damage outfit can't keep up, without investment outside of her strengths (i.e. Axe, Flying).

A tier list of which appearance of the characters & their war arc appearances are more suitable

Really wish the three Hopes versions were covered here as their designs are also very decent for some of them

super informative, man. thanks.

I'm glad you changed your mind on Hilda. I think the reason people praise her so much, is because she takes very little investment, to get online. She naturally gets a lot of strength and speed, so she's always doing damage. You only have to take her through the brigand/warrior classline to make her good, because she acts as a player phase crit machine. Give her either the accuracy ring, or the critical ring, and she's off to the races. In a way, she's like a Temu Edelgard. Not as good, but still amazing.

Great video all around though. Can't say I disagree with any of your placements. You really gave each one a lot of thought

Thank you for this video man. I agree with so much you talked about. Just started playing again so I appreciate your input.👌🏻

I do think that Dimitri’s speed is a bit irrelevant as he should be one shotting. I usually prioritize his hit as he can be a bit shaky against really dodgy enemies so I go Bow Knight Dimitri most of the time for Hit +20

Im here to advocate for War Master Ignatz. Just completed my first ever Maddening run (GD) and he absolutely carried for about 3/4ths of it critting everything in sight

Dancer Yuri with his relic and Rapier+ can just be put anywhere on the map and survive with decent crit rates as well

I recommend trying a playthrough with no turnwheel, it definitely changes a lot of the typical rankings which are biased to who has the better [big number] x 2 combat.
