I have been watching a number of your videos and they are very informative and well made. Twenty, ahem, five years out of school and now learning 3D scanning and re-learning ideal onlay and inlays in gold and ceramic. Very humbling seeing one's preps magnified 20X on a computer screen . It is a different world with a human being attached to the tooth than a dentiform. I thank you for the videos and information. Challenging myself to get better.

Hello Dr Stevenson, after the prep is finished what is the expected depth of the proximal boxes and the shoulder bevel (on functional cusp)? Thanks for all the good work. God bless.

Hey great video, Dr.Stevenson.
What is the type of preparation modification required for a MODB?

@choochd 5 years ago

Our school they teaches us from Shillingburg Fundamentals. So the Secondary Plane like is treated as a second plane of the Axial reduction. They also teach the FCB as just meaning a slightly elongated 2nd plane. What would your personal opinion be on this?

Hi Dr. Stevenson and thanks for the great work you’ve shared with us. I was wondering how tall the pulpal walls would be after the occlusal reduction ? Is it 1mm?

@DanielAtiehFs 7 years ago

excellent demonstration. I did endodontic treatment for a tooth indicated for an onlay (had MOD cavity), but I placed composite before doing the definitive restoration.
When I want to do the onlay prep, will I need to remove all the composite?
