Reality Check with Ross Coulthart

Bob Thompson spent 14 years with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and became known for leaking UFO videos that were later released by the government.

Now, he speaks publicly and reveals a never-before-seen video called “The Cigar.” Thompson walks Ross Coulthart through the footage and discusses his research into unexplained sightings across the American Southwest.

The two also examine the “Rubber Duck,” “A10” and “La Bruja” videos. Thompson details what he says he learned from his years investigating unusual objects in the sky.

On "Reality Check," NewsNation Special Correspondent Ross Coulthart takes a fact-based approach to tackle everything from unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) to mysteries often missing from the headlines.

I was assigned to install several ARSR-4 RADAR systems close to the Mexican border. Ground based RADAR relies on artificial fixed targets that provide azimuth and range reference for system calibration. Part of my job was to establish these artificial targets. I would need a secure location to install an antenna and the electronics. A Border Patrol office was ideal. I dropped by and asked if they could provide this cooperation with FAA, and they gladly complied. As I was explaining the details, one of their uniformed agents came walking in with another agent. He appeared to have been in a fight or maybe had been drinking. I stared at him and the agent with whom I'd been speaking told me that he was recovering from a recent UFO sighting. I couldn't stop staring. It was no prank. I think he desperately wanted to be believed by the way he stared back at me, but I said nothing. Obviously it made a lasting impression, because that was around 1995.

With our technology I want to know why anyone hasn't zoomed in completely on this object to give us a better shot of what it is we're seeing everything in a blur and from the distance

Glad to see footage of COLD stuff moving with no identifiable propulsion. Now, we're getting somewhere. :)

On another video I heard it said that these strangely-shaped ufo’s have attachments for possibly collecting things (such as minerals).

imagine going to your boss and reporting that you saw a Rubber Duck U.F.O. You'd be labeled as a real quack. The anomaly around the 1:33:16 mark of the video is a Cattle Egret. A large white bird gliding in search of its next meal. Yes, they do fly at night.
