Dual-diagnosis. That's what I believe. Addiction is merely a symptom of a much greater problem. As a recovering addict, I can say with all honesty that it does not matter what our parents or anyone else says or does, an addict will not stop **** unless they want to stop. Period. It is completely unfair to attack his family. Those commenters obviously don't understand addiction at all and talking based on bias or stereotype. An addict with depression will have a much bleaker and sometimes very irrational view of life. That doesn't necessarily mean that's how life actually was. But even if it was dysfunctional in some way, there's nothing his parents could have done differently to avoid this heartbreaking tragedy. But love is not enough. There's so much garbage going around out there, it's not even real drugs anymore. Every time you "pick up" you are putting yourself at risk. 🚔🏥🪦 But once an addict uses (the first time), they are no longer in control of their choices until they choose to stop. My heart goes out to this family. You need to stay close and carry the message. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒🙏🏼💜🗣️❤️‍🩹🛟

I'm so heartbroken for this family. And how dare ANYONE disparage them. People are horrible. This family will never be the same. And the dug problem their poor son had was NO ONE'S FAULT.

Such a sad situation. Why blame the family? I,personally, blame the doctors who are only eager to prescribe medications rather than treat the root of the problem. I am so sorry for all of them.
