Perhaps the most famous bit of the Vasa is her stern castle. The completely massive, too tall, and ornamented top structure. Because we needed the structure of the keel and stringers to actually hold these parts in place we can now finally add the structural bits that makes up the coolest clubhouse of the seas in the 17th century.

This is part of the Rideable Vasa series where we scratch build a human crewed 1:12 scale version of the Vasa - the massively overbuilt warship built to fight in the great wars of 1628. She was glorious. She sank 1300 meters from the shipyard. We aim to be slightly better.

A project without failure conditions. Either we sail, which is great. Or we sink, which is historically accurate.
