Hi everyone, wth TMUA coming up very shorttly, i wanted to make a video on what i think will help you get up to an 8 or a 9, these are techniques that worked for me when i did A-levels and STEP and that have worked for my students in the past. This is all probably stuff you already know but wanted to remind you and give you a nudge to help you get some of those better grades

THE FIVE TIPS
1. BE PICKY The hardest questions are scattered through the paper, not saved for the end. If a question isnt your one your confident with flag it, skip it, and put an answer down before you move on, in case you never get back to it.
2. USE THE OPTIONS It's multiple choice: you're picking an answer, not producing one. Rule options out to get closer to the right one
3. PAPER 1: STOP USING YOUR CALCULATOR. Students use their calculators way too much, for all of your STEM subjects start and only use one when you absolutely have to.
4. PAPER 2: LEARN THE LOGIC If and only if, necessary and sufficient conditions, the converse, the contrapositive, and what actually disproves a claim. Most of it isn't on the A level spec. Learn the ideas first before just doing loads of questions.
5. LOOK AT YOUR ERRORS For every mark you drop, write down the actual cause, not just the topic and Redo your worst questions a couple of weeks later.
