The Socrates of Jiu-Jitsu.

I could listen to John Danaher read the ingredients of a snack cake and somehow have a moment of absolute clarity. The man has a manner about him that inspires.

"A certain amount of violence is absolutely necessary" - gold

this guy should be a narrator for movies like Morgan Freeman.

I imagine danahers closet is just like 150 rash gaurds

That was fuckin gold, pretty proud he's from New Zealand

This is absolute gold. I hope to meet Professor Danaher one day.

What a unique individual he certainly seems to live up to his almost mystical reputation

This man. I love him. This video lifted me up a bit from depression. Thank you Coach Danaher.

When I finally have an opportunity to take lsd, I’m going to spend my night listening to John.

He is the next Bond villain.

@5:30 brilliantly explaining why submissions are the "perfect form of victory"

One of the best combat philosophers today

I'm not sure what I would like more, a couple of hours on the mat with this man, or a couple of hours in an arm chair next to a fire place with a glass of scotch discussing philosophy. He's a great man inside and outside the gym. Very few like him out there.

amazing intellect

Priceless. I hope your next documentary just follows him around for a month. I'll do the music for free

"Jiu jitsu is a science, an art of control which leads to submission." Set these words in stone.

People will be watching this in 50 years and be astounded that this guy existed

A True Master of Martial Arts, and an actual Philosopher (PhD). The hero we need.

I wish the whole world could watch this video..
