Honestly i’m not triggered for everyone who said that in the comments. The song is called IMAGINE. I don’t need flash cards just let me imagine. Hahahaha I know their backgrounds and that’s why I enjoy reacting to their content. Lennons visuals were better. I will leave it there with out going on another rant 😂😭

They aren’t telling you what to think. That’s who they are they can only represent how they are different and what they have in common. That’s the reason for HUMAN at the end.

They were not telling you how to think.  They were just telling you who they are.
When they pass the card from one person to another, it is showing what those two people have in common.

They were representing themselves in those cards and the connection between each human in their particular group. Nobody can speak on another's struggles without walking in that person's life. We can listen. We can try to understand. We can be open to discussions and learning but we'll never actually feel the same as the person living it. ❤

I was really surprised at your reaction on this one. I'm wondering what you think they were trying to make you think by using those cards that set you off.   Its who THEY are, its who they represent. Each has something in common while passing on those cards if you noticed.  Men, Woman, Black, White, Latina, Gay, Straight, Christian, Jewish, all together as one, we are all human no matter what beliefs you have.

They are showing how they are all connected to each other.

Again, I don't think they are trying to tell you what to think. They are saying, 'this is what I am and I share these qualities with my brother standing next to me. but in the end, we are all HUMAN'

I’ve been following PTX for 15 years.   Not once in that time have I ever heard them be anything but positive and accepting of all humans.

They never preach or judge others.  They have religious beliefs but do not impose them on their fans.

This song represented self identification of each member and acceptance of everyone as humans.  It was not politically motivated.

I always loved John LENNON's "Imagine" it grabbed my mind and heart. First time I saw the Pentatonix version IT GRABBED MY SOUL AND BRAIN. .The visual hits it home we are each our own pieces BUT we are ALL HUMAN...They showed THEIR pieces..my take and opinion..

Bro they are representing people and what connects them as individual people as a group.  Each person has something in common with each other and that’s what unites them as ONE. Look beyond.

They represented themselves. How each had a similarity and a difference. The were just saying that “we are these things” it’s ok to be different and the same and still come together.

The irony, the more labels we have to describe ourselves, the more we divide and separate ourselves from each other
The initial cards were meant to indicate what they had in common, the last card label shown before passing it to the next person was the indication what was common between the 2 people before being passed to the next person

First off, I'm 74YO.  The ascension of The Beatles and all its individual members is a large part of my early life.  Was John Lennon controversial...yes...but he was his art!  I'm with others in these comments.  You were overthinking the cards, with your own personal bias and beliefs from hearing the original.  They were not trying to represent everyone.  They could only represent themselves, which is what happened here.  I've seen this video dozens of times.  Pentatonix are always true to themselves.  This is a beautiful video.

You misunderstood. They were not trying to teach anyone anything. They were telling you about themselves and how each of them are different in certain aspects yet they can relate to each other because they are also the same. Then at the end yes….they are all different but they are all human.

The words represented who they are. Their point is that despite whoever we are, we are all human.

Each sign is for the person that's holding it. The sign says who they are!

The original Imagine was in fact, quite political.  It was a lower key antiwar song-written in 1971.  Lennon himself described it as an  "ad campaign for peace".  Both Lennon and his wife were very involved in both the peace movement and the civil rights movement that was  very active at the time.  Pentatonix expanded the song to reflect the discriminations of this era by defining their personal identity, ethnicity and belief and showing we still have a way to go to meet Lennon's ideal.

I think what they are doing is showing something about themselves and how different they are but can come together and accept each other as they are. HUMAN!

The end of the song showed their different voices, different individuals.  But the final line they UNITED in ONE voice, human.  You needed to watch the whole video before jumping to conclusions.

To repeat previous comments... the cards are in  order Mitch 'LGPQ +,' Scott same plus 'a man', Avi same plus 'Jewish' plus 'American', Kevin same plus 'black' plus 'Christian', Kirsty same plus 'Latina' plus a woman.  it is what makes them each their own plus the similarity they share.
