I played it while recovering from surgery. Just imagine — I was sick, exhausted, barely able to move or go outside. And yet, despite all of that, I absolutely loved it. I don’t know why, but I got so attached to this game. It helped me forget the pain of surgery, and honestly, I can call it one of the best games I’ve ever played.
Been a fan of this game since day 1 and still play it now. My favorite moment in this game was when I had come across the dragon forged merchant and saw his stock, but also saw a riftstone near him. I go into it and I recognize the first pawn, then the second, and so on. And I saw that it was a “riftstone of remembrance” which has every pawn you’ve ever had adventure with you. It was so cool to see how much stronger they all became.
I had a traveling pawn who caught the plague once. She was starting to do things in her own. Then her eyes strated to glow red. Immediatly launched her into the river 😁
For those of us who played Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen obsessively for years before DDII came out, the most frustrating part is that there is not a single problem in DDII that couldn’t be fixed by a Dark Arisen style expansion (eternal ferrystone, new dungeon with new enemies, etc.). But regardless, DDDA is an S-tier, Top 10 of all time game for me and DDII is A-tier, Top 20 of all time game.
Replaying DD2 just before the DLC dropped and I realized that the update gave us the eternal ferrystone DDDA had. That's probably their best addition to the game.
2 must have mods that will make a new playthrough even more fun is gear progression and simple difficulty tweaks, the first removes all the good gear from the shops and puts them into the world, so you have a reason to explore more and the second for the obvious difficulty problems
You get it, Dogma captures the feeling of going on an adventure. Game need more content but the BONES of DD2 gives me the same joy I had playing DD1.
You ever notice how the people that complain about enemy variety never acknowledge that griffin encounters in DD2 are way more dynamic and fun. Plus the draw distance, seeing a griffin flying around so far away adds to the experience.
