Authentic Bahamian conch salad consists of the standard vegetables; onions, half ripe tomatoes, green bell pepper, scotch bonnet pepper & Seasoned with, freshly squeezed lime and orange juice(directly from the fruit)  and salt. It’s simply amazing! 🇧🇸 ❤

only seasoning we put in conch salad in the bahamas is salt.

That first one was not a Bahamain conch salad, hell no. Conch haven looked like the real deal. the food looked great.

26:08 Goat pepper is what we use , the scotch bonnet is the cousin of that. They look similar but they have different flavor notes. 🇧🇸

That conch salad made at Kings is a no no.  I am Bahamian and we don't put that much orange juice in our conch salad, some may use a slice of orange, but we mainly use fresh lime juice, fresh hot (spicy) pepper, little salt for seasoning.  Looking at how that salad was made was really disappointing

Love the video (Conch Heaven was the most authentic restaurant on this episode) but we don’t drown the conch salad in orange juice, just a splash and all those spices in conch salad. And that wasn't stew conch in the video. That made steamed conch. You have to make a brown roux. Also we don't do flat conch fritters in The Bahamas. I don't feel these restaurants have done sufficient research on these dishes (shake my head). and we don't dip fried conch in lime juice...what is really going on here? lemon cake??  We have johnny cake/bread, rum cake, coconut tart, potato bread but not lemon cake.  David they are definitely leading you astray. It's not pronounced "sauce"  it's pronounced "sowse". I would like to try their sweet and sour conch. We do have it here in some restaurants on the islands.

Bahamas hands down have the best conch dishes!!! I’m not a fan of conch but every time I go to Bahamas I must have them.

The stewed conch would’ve had a better presentation in a bowl.  Thanks for the education on conch David!🤗
