When my husband and I started TTC, I didn’t change anything about my workout routine. We tried for a year before going to a fertility clinic. The experts told me NOT TO CHANGE MY ROUTINE and that running would increase my fertility. They only advised me to increase my protein. Four years. Not a single positive test and our infertility was ruled as “unexplained.” I continued running just thinking it was out of my hands.
Then we went to Switzerland and for the first time ever, I left my running shoes at home. We were walking and hiking, but for 3 weeks I didn’t run at all.
I got pregnant.
Now, I don’t know if running was somehow interfering with my fertility, but it would be a big coincidence that the one month I took a break from running was the month I got pregnant.
I’m currently 26w pregnant and I’ve switched up my fitness routine for gentle cardio (stationary bike and elliptical) paired with strength training.
