Out of season sailing in the Mediterranean can mean big seas and gale force winds...

We sail from Gibralter to Calpe, Mediterranean Spain, experiencing both of the above along with discovering some beautiful anchorages along the way. (sorry about the shaky camera work and wind noise...it was very windy and our camera is a bit crap!)

My wife and I owned Helene, a Trintella 40 ( same hull as your Victory, but finished out by a Dutch yard) from 1976 to 1981. We left San Francisco in 1978 on a 2 year voyage to Mexico, the Marquesas, the Societies and the Hawaiian Islands. Returned to SF in 1980 and started our family. Finding your videos brings back sweet memories. A great boat for ocean voyaging, and great to see you carrying on the dream. Enjoying the music too!

I live in a land-locked tropical city, where the only water to see is a river and some reservoirs. Just subscribed and look forward to a "virtual escape" on your yacht from time to time.

"Shaky Camera work" makes it genuine and "ReeeeaL" !!! Thank you for an Xxxcellent video ! I just wish that MORE of these professional video bloggers would point the cameras MORE @ the sailing and less @ their faces !!! It smacks of narcissism !!!

Don't show any fear young lady. It makes the captain nervous. You seem extremely capable in slightly heavy seas. Be proud of that and take water over the gunnels with a certain nonchalance. I think between the two of you, the boat is in good hands. Does my heart good to see you wearing safety harnesses. Rarely see that on the other channels. You have a wonderful boat and good crew. Take good care of both. You'll learn to love the heavier seas in no time.

You can do that with a Solent rig because the headsail and jib are so close together on the fore deck. Then you open them up into a butterfly configuration and drop the main sail when you have a following wind. It asks like a kite to pull you forward through the water.

Lovely to watch your Chanel, refreshingly normal, down to earth British couple.. Keep it up, glad I'm not the only woman that gets fearful on board yachts!
