Actual experienced truths, not lies and half truths from “scientists” who wouldn’t know the scientific method if bit them in the ass. Great information and an excellent video presentation. The guys who created this deserve recognition. I hope they continue to put this type of life saving information out to the fire service.
I’d love to see the fire service start to take each of these chapters and create video presentations and in-depth training sessions on each of these dynamic events.
The modern fire service is being set up for failure by supposed experts and the spineless administrators who are not conducting live fire training in the structures we actually fight in. Burn buildings cannot provide actual fire ground conditions.
Really great work on this Santa Rosa FD. Please give the guys who made this a budget to continue their work and produce more videos like this.
It would have helped if the clips of backdrafts and smoke explosions had started 10 to 15 seconds earlier in order to get a visual understanding of what the signs to look for are in each case. (also cut the music, it's neither appropriate nor helpful)
It’s what this video is not saying that speaks the loudest to me. NIST (the largest fire science laboratory in the world) informed the fire service that adding wetting agents (Class A foam) to water increases the speed of extinguishment by 3 to 5 times that of plain, untreated water. Notice there are no examples of the use or application of Class A foam fire streams in this “fire rock video.” Just more same ‘ol’ same ‘ol video of high intensity fire activity going unanswered by fire departments that use 1950’s water based fire tactics when they could have tamed the fire using wetting agent foam.
