In recent years, we have witnessed a gradual homogenization of the mainstream media landscape. The concentration of media ownership in the hands of right-wing or far-right political billionaires and the increasing pressure on public broadcasting are leading to the disappearance of critical voices, which are increasingly excluded from television studios, radio stations, and even the print media. Faced with this phenomenon, independent media outlets are emerging online, offering a more dissenting perspective, in line with the aspirations of a growing number of citizens. Blast, founded in 2020 by Denis Robert, is one of these new information channels that seek to "have an impact in the information battle" and to be "accessible to the widest possible audience in order to sharpen critical thinking and inspire resistance and action" against the standardization of discourse.
How can we combat the homogenization of discourse promoted by the dominant media? Is the journalism profession in danger given the increasing number of breaches of ethics? Is it possible to provide information that accurately reflects "reality"? How can we explain the omnipresence of support for Israel in the French media?
