Hey everybody! I hope you liked this video. It's a bit of a different style than my normal stuff. More casual, more conversational, less "video essay-y". I hate guilty pleasure music. I hate people not talking about what they like, or being embarassed about what they like. Especially when it's Billie Eilish. Or One Direction. Night Changes slaps.

People's guilty pleasures should be music from literal bad people. People should feel guilt when listening to Chris Brown.

A young white dude from the south probably listens to rap honestly.

I honestly dont understand the hatred for Billie Eilish. I mean I laugh at the memes about her and her audience and all, but if your an adult and dont check her music out just because you dont wanna be grouped in with a bunch of kids, thats just stupid.

EDIT: Wow thanks for so many likes and replies you all! I didnt know there were so many varying opinions on her.

I'm a metalhead, but I love Carly Rae Jepsen.

There is a big difference about guiltypleasures that you are ”embarresed” about because of others opinion, and guilty pleasures because you don’t want to like an artist, edgy, quirky etc

I don’t think the avatar last air bender movie is anyone’s guilty pleasure

Personally I use the term 'guilty pleasure' to refer to things that I enjoy even though I can acknowledge that they are not somewhat objectively good or don't have a lot of merit towards them.

I love that you're talking about this. This is a position I've held for forever- no one should feel "guilty" about listening to music that they like. I did a whole show for my college radio station one semester called Comfort Food, where I played so-called "guilty pleasure" genres (everything from boy bands to disco to mainstream pop) in an attempt to get people to feel less ashamed about what they like.

I used to be embarrassed that I like classical music. My friends always called me boring and weird for liking it even though Tchaikovsky absolutely slaps. So stupid

There are two kinds of people in this world: ABBA fans and guilty pleasure ABBA fans. I'm proud to be the former.

Charli XCX doesn’t get nearly enough credit... she’s one of my favorite people in music today.

The term 'guilty pleasure' came from people who have closed minded friends and they didn't wanna get teased. If you're first to point it out, then nobody else can shame your music tastes. The problem is you turn something from positive to negative and alienate other fans in the process

I went to an Iron Maiden show one week and a Carly Rae Jepsen show the next. They were both equally awesome

I'm still bopping to the song Everytime we Touch by Cascada to this day. Some might call it a guilty pleasure, I just think the song slaps in general.
