I think my LEGO collection might finally be getting out of control…

Now that Block Party has effectively become a full-time project, it’s time to start properly organising the LEGO room. Over the years the collection has grown… a lot. Shelves are full, unopened sets are piling up, and there are builds everywhere that probably shouldn’t be on display anymore.

So today I start the process of sorting it all out.

The plan for this first day includes:
Breaking down some older sets for parts
Moving the castle and medieval area out of the LEGO City and into the LEGO room
Figuring out storage for our growing backlog of unopened sets
A trip to B&M to buy some storage containers (and obviously checking the LEGO aisle while we’re there…)
Dropping some builds off at the LEGO City for the first time since my back injury
Starting the long process of reorganising the collection

This is definitely not a one-video job. It’s probably going to take weeks to properly reorganise everything, so this may end up becoming a bit of a mini-series.

It's much more interesting to see how LEGO fans manage their collections in limited space, than it is to see yet another LEGO set added to an enormous city or to a room full of partly filled shelves. Good luck with the reorganization project! Yes, I'll be watching.

We’re going to echo the posts of others - as people with limited space for their Lego…we prefer seeing how other people deal with similarly limited space than seeing massive unattainable warehouse sized cities.
With that said, love the idea of multiple islands rather than one big one. Multiple islands = multiple themes and more chance for intricate detail…it’ll also probably save your back too.

I feel guily being the one to say it, but... you still dont have enough space to properly display the amazing sets you have. The medieval/castle/bricklink sets are awesome and need a lego city type space. Your collection is superb, Lego sensory overload, so much that deserves to be displayed.
