Destiny 2's Lore and story in the latest cutscene of the season. Rasputin took over and revealed the truth about Clovis Bray's intentions for the Warmind. Clovis wanted to use the Warmind to destroy the Traveller and was planning to integrate himself into the warmind's network to take over and become a god. Luckily, Rasputin, Elsie and Ana were able to stop Clovis before his plan started. All of this was discovered thanks to data from Felwinter's dead Ghost Felspring.

Let's be real for a second here, we all probably knew Clovis would betray us at some point sooner or later. Better to have gotten rid of him now before he did anything really damaging.

I really like that Rasputin's first words when he boots up is "Go to Ana, she needs support". That in itself is already proof he's better than Clovis when it comes to people.

Spoilers in this comment. Just in case.

As an 8 year Destiny veteran, this week's story felt amazing. Felwinter and Felspring, the revelation of Clovis' true intentions, Osiris' dialogue about training with the Iron Lords, Rasputin speaking English to us, and everything. Solid story telling this week. Makes we wonder what Clovis will do next now that Rasputin exposed him?

Let's appreciate for a second just HOW not evil Rasputin actually is. He gets put in this new body and what is the first thing he does? He says that you should make sure Ana's okay. Not the actions of an evil machine, at all.

Watching Elsie cross her arms while Clovis begged her for help was too damn funny. I'll bet she was thoroughly enjoying the whole thing

I'm sure this has been brought up, but I really love how much this entire year of Destiny has been about memories. From Deepsight and Savathun's past, the survivors of the Whirlwind, the Nightmares, and now Rasputin's revelations it's been an interesting ride to be certain.

This weeks story absolutely *SLAPPED*. As someone who has played since the beta, this was hugely satisfying. I was literally whooping and saying "Hell Yeah" while watching what went down in the H.E.L.M.
Very much looking forward to the our new season vendor speaking a lot more and being a character. What we've got so far is definitely promising.

Hearing the warmind theme as Rasputin was speaking to us was the cherry on top for me. I’m very grateful for this season and it’s ramping up hype for lightfall.

Seriously- I finished up the story for this week and my immediate first thought was "So much for My name is Byf's holiday break..."

@AntVaz7 3 years ago

I bet at the end of the season when Neomuna is revealed Osiris is gonna have a big “I TOLD YOU SO” moment, he is breaking down just from not being able to confirm it's existence

It's always just funny how us/the guardian is just vibing watching whatever shenanigans happens in the story.

Byf: This should be a good enough time to take a break, there's no way the fourth week of the seasonal story is going to be any sort of huge bombshell.
Bungie: I'm about to end this man's whole vacation.

It was a nice little detail to see Osiris refer to Rasputin as Fellwinter's murderer., though I am surprised that Saladin was not resistant towards handing over his friends shell to Ana. Plus it seems that seeing himself through his Son's Ghost's eye made Rasputin lose that god complex and strive to become more humble.

In some of the other voice lines he seems so happy to finally be able to express his gratitude to Ana and Elsie. It also looks like he is quickly becoming a friend of Mara.

I’m genuinely surprised that Rasputin, in his godlike power capable of destroying even the Traveler, couldn’t pull up google translate to speak with us.

It's still crazy to me that felwinter was arguably the most powerful guardian because he had the power of the light and the force of Rasputin

I remember when we first got a look at the giant diamond-shaped mindlab back in the Warmind expansion and I thought, “it really feels like someone was trying to build their own Traveller here.”

It’s fun to see I was pretty much right.

Sorry for the audio on this video being a little different from normal. With all the other stuff that was going on I wasn't able to perfectly emulate what you'd get out of Martin's volume and edits. Hope that's ok.

Really glad they gave us a silhouette of Clovis in that cutscene, because now I will only ever picture Clovis in my head as the Medic from TF2

@waluigiisgod3978 3 years ago

I like how they handled this reveal, bungie knew that we knew Clovis would betray us, they knew we knew if given the chance Clovis would overthrow the traveller as "humanities saviour", but bungie still somehow managed a twist in the purpose of Rasputin, they still masterfully managed to make a twist that made sense and greatly recontextualises some of the old lore, honestly just a writers chef's kiss
