your channel is so good. you are one of the few who does back to back comparisons, which is the only true test to really talk about the detailed differences between cars. keep it up bro!

Who would've ever thought hydraulic steering would be a party trick these days

"This does not sound worse than a 458," he says of the 296 V6 hybrid. THAT is high praise, plus w great dampening...

Bro please keep up the great work. Your Chanel is excellent for motor  sports fans and seeing for everyday standpoint.

been trying to figure out why i like the look of the 296 so much.

then you stated it's the Ford GT vibe. and that's absolutely it!

296 is the first modern ferrari I would truly buy since  La ferrari and  f12. When I get the money I would get a 296 Speciale and a 750 Spider. also I notice on audio 750 sounds louder but 296 sounds better

Having the 296 Manettino in "Sport" means the shifts are not going to be as fast. You need to be in "Race" to make the shifts more aggressive.

Love these short but detailed comparison tests! Could you do one on last gen RWD R8 and RWD Huracan. Thanks!

Two amazing cars!  Ubelievably to me the TTV6 in the Ferrari is the better sounding motor so huge credit to Ferrari for making a TTV6 be that exciting.  Thanks, Zygrene!

A lot of the suspension guys at McLaren came from Lotus when they were taken over..those boys know their stuff..never driven a Ferrari but I’ve got a 750s coupe & it’s fantastic…a light car does it for me 👍

Living the good life Fenton. I remember when my SR20 510 made your top 5 list nearly a decade ago. You've come a long way buddy, and what a pleasure to watch your progression.  So thankful you still share the same honest personal approach to reviews no matter what you drive.

i dont have a driving license anymore due to health reasons, but just imagining being able to sit behind the wheel in these two cars, gives me goosebumps and chills. New McLarens are awesome, and 296 is just behind

Great review! Love both. 296s are a fantastic value.

I was deciding between the fiat 500 and mini jce featured in last video and these. Now my mind is made up!!!

296 is so sick!

One of each pls.

These 2 and a 911 Turbo S are my top supercars ngl (Yes i consider Turbo S a supercar)

I’ve owned a 296 for a year and driven the 750 on circuit. Both very special but I’d say the 750 is far more of a thrill to drive and tells you more what it’s doing handling wise. Mclaren feels way faster due to the power delivery. Ferrari looks and interior quality are next level though.

Those roads look familiar :-)  I have a 750 and a friend has the 296.  I agree the 296 is more 'classic/timeless but the Mc definitely has wow effect visually ... more so than the Ferrari.  Definitely disappointed in the sound but that's really the only major complaint I have.  I do prefer the more simple interior especially on the steering wheel.  I probably drive in Sport (or Track) 99% of the time unless the better half is with me as she prefers it a bit quieter.  Trying not to be bias, would pick the Mc every day over Ferrari.  Keep on driving!!

Zygrene, I truly enjoy your Drive comparison videos. You have an uncanny ability to articulate exactly what you’re feeling behind the wheel—something that’s incredibly rare and genuinely valuable.

I noticed in this review you didn’t declare an official winner, which I found interesting. Having just gone through this exact decision myself, I cross-shopped the Ferrari 296 GTB and the McLaren 750S Spyder back-to-back.

While I rarely disagree with your takes, my experience diverged a bit. I found the Ferrari’s sound and overall engagement to be somewhat lackluster—almost too clinical. In contrast, the 750S delivered that true supercar sense of occasion. Behind the wheel, it felt alive. I actually preferred the character of its engine—the turbo noises, the pops and overrun in Sport mode—it just brought more emotion into the experience.

You absolutely nailed the suspension and steering comments, and I’d add that the brake pedal in the McLaren is more confidence-inspiring as well.

I ultimately took delivery of a 2026 McLaren 750S Spyder in Ludus Blue. Interestingly, I had the option to purchase a nearly new 2025 Ferrari 296 with just 38 miles for about $60K less—but it simply didn’t spark joy or light that emotional fire for me.

Both are incredible machines, no doubt. But for me, the McLaren is the true driver’s car—and the winner in terms of delivering a pure, visceral supercar experience.

And let’s be honest… who can argue with dihedral doors that swing up into the air and the absolutely stunning design of the 750S?
