It's definitely a very nice model built with an excellent video!

Really good build and Great user friendly video. Well Done !!

I'm just starting this kit, and really enjoyed your video.  Don't worry about talking too much in explaining the process. I enjoy the commentary. As an American,  I find how you Brits pronounce the word decal quite amusing. You are correct, we pronounce it deecals.  You definitely have a new follower. Cheers!

Glad youre back with a new build 🌼

Nicely done, quite inspiring, thanks for sharing

A classic old kit.   I love it!

Good lookin zeke!

I got a tip on another podcast how to make your canopies look like real glass. Paint the edges with green acrylic paint. I bought a green acrylic marker to use.

As regards the wing route, gaps and general poor fitting, I have the exact same issue with the 1/48 Tamiya Frank kit. It took me ages to fill and sand those joints and caused a lot of headaches. I read a review build of the same kit and the reviewer shared that in order to avoid these gaps, his approach was to attached the upper wing halves to the fuse Lodge first to get a perfect joint and then add the bottom section of the wings afterwards. This makes a great deal of sense to me so I will try that with this kit as I’ve just bought it.

your back!!!!

the trick to great masking without bleeding  its to store your tape in a sealed container to avoid dust collect on the sides of the tape . If it does use  alchohol  and rub off jentlly with  your fingers..

I built this about 10 years ago after coming back to the hobby. I had just finished the beautiful 1/48 P51. I was surprised at how poorly it fit and how basic it was, compared to the Mustang, and I made a bit of a mess of it! Yours looks great, however.

Awesome. Agree on the glue choice. Where's the pilot... I have a personal opinion that if you have a pilot figure, fit it aside makes the model seem to be more personal. I'm making the Let 410 from eduard and will add crew and passengers (already have) so the plane looks like its being used. Great model of the zero though, I'd have done the one that's white from the Akagi!

Is it good to have a lighter color primer or is black work and what tamiya orange color did you use for the orange stripe.

I just found you ! I really enjoyed watching and listening to your build. Turn out very nicely.
One question. I've never come across that very thin masking tape. Could you tell me the manufacturer? TIA 😊

I’m building this kit now. Yes, there are gaps in the wing roots, especially the left wing root. There is also a ‘step’ where the underside one piece wing panel does not line up with the fuselage. This is a bugger to fix, and seems worse than on your kit. Maybe my plastic is warped? The cowling, being a left and right half shows the age of the kit instead of a one piece molded cowling. I mean, it’s still a nice kit, but it was marketed in 1975 and is not up to the standard of a modern Tamiya kit. The fact that you bought it in a Tamiya store… did they tell you how old the kit is?

I hate putty, so if and when I have wing gaps like that, I always try adding sprue "spreaders" to try and push the wing root area of the fuselage out so it fits better. It's a fair amount of work and you have to make sure it doesn't break the cockpit loose, but it's worth it if you can use no or less putty. Did I mention I hate putty? I had this same issue on another Tamiya kit of the same vintage, the J2M3 Raiden and the sprue trick worked well.
