Thinking about learning French for Canadian PR, but worried about the time, money, and whether you can actually do it? Here's what it took for me—from studying French to finally receiving my PR card.
I spent about ten months studying French while balancing university, a restaurant job, and uncertainty about my next step in Canada. In this video, I share why I chose French, what preparing for TCF Canada involved, and my French-to-PR timeline, with the learning and application stages shown separately.
I also talk about the parts a timeline can't show: forgetting grammar, struggling to speak, doubting myself in my late thirties, and finally noticing progress. If you're deciding whether to start—or already studying and feeling stuck—I hope my experience helps you see the effort more clearly and plan your own next step.
This is my personal experience, and your timeline and outcome may be different.
