3 broken keys right out the box is wild

3 keys not working is shoddy work considering the price

Hey mate, Tom here, Technical Director from TI. Also the guy that tries to make sure no faulty Orchids get through our quality testing. We've gotten our numbers down extremely low.. Below 1%..but obviously not good enough! I'm off to the factory next week to tighten things up. Sorry yours arrived not perfect. I'm glad the team could help you out properly and get it working fast. The video is great, even if you were down two keys. Appreciate your work. DM'd ya on insta too, would like to chat 🌱🙃

Roland j-6 is another slightly different but capable chord inspiration device, you can pick one up used for sub $200.  Orchid looks awesome, but just throwing another more affordable hardware option out there

So that's why Matt Berry screams "Fuck!" in the middle of the commercial.

Definitely a slick little unit. When something like that is so esthetically pleasing, it does make you want to play more. Yet that price tag is off putting. Cool that you got yours repaired quickly.

If it inspires you, thats all that matters.  If thats a grey box with a zillion features and deep workflows, so be it.
But it can also be a box that just makes chords. Everyone out there figure out your own fun.

Bro, you can buy the roland aria chord generator for under $200 and it does the same thing and all the keys work.  And you can also change the key youre in on it, it has an arpegiattor,  it does most of the stuff this does, dif sounds, etc

“You have selected to take the bass line for a walk.”

I have one and its is so fun and sounds amazing. Once I start playing I loose hours. It feels great in hand. I love it. Oh and the fact that it’s so portable and with the speaker I can create in all different environments.

I’ve got one. No issues on mine, and I’m not a real music producer. I know there’s cheaper options out there, and you can make fun of me all you want, but so far I really like it. A big part of their marketing is it’s an “ideas machine”, and from that perspective I think it does exactly what it sets out to do. I have zero music theory and have already been learning chords and making some great sounds, especially combined with my Chroma Console pedal. You likely don’t need it, neither do I, but it’s a fun device that I’m learning from until the next keyboard enters my life. If I really hate it I’ll sell it. It’s my first instrument and I’m having an absolute blast, especially with making deeper bass notes and building from there. I also have only so much time to play, and so much physical space to use it. To each their own ❤

i know this is a boutique synth, i know i dont need this to make good music, but as a treat, i like this, something to play with, i think they know this isnt for everyone, it reminds me of the omnichord, its a cool toy that does something specific and looks kinda cool

Awesome job! Besides the great review, you visual composition for your shots is great as well! Thank you!

Looks like a musical Acorn Atom. They used to be flaky in the eighties, we used the "3 inch drop test" on them if they played up! Some would get fixed by dropping them on the table, if they didn't they went to the parts bin.

An overpriced one-trick pony that doesn't do anything you can't do in a DAW. I want one.

A lot of people dissin this, but its super inspirational, it gets ideas flowing and it sounds amazing 💙

You can do all this and more with the Chordimist VST

I would totally cop these to have fun during lunchbreak at work

for $80 on facebook marketplace.

I love the look of it and some of the sounds but I see more versatility and customisation with Scaler 3 and a cheap midi keyboard for a fraction of the price.
