Paul Dini revitalized both Mr. Freeze and Hush into two of the coolest Batman villains. I hope one day he’ll give the same treatment to the court of Owls.

Riddler as a P.I is a creative choice that probably should've stuck.

Greatest injustice to Dini was not letting him finish the Arkham trilogy

"I threw a rock at him!"

* silence *

"It was a big rock..."

Between this and the animated series, Paul Dini’s depiction of Batman’s world feels so authentic. When I read any other modern run I feel like I’m reading the writer version of it, putting his own voice first over the characters, but with Paul I feel like I’m reading BATMAN.

Truly this was the last great era for Batman comics.

Real ones never forgot, Paul Dini's that guy. His Zatanna run is great too, too bad it got cut short.

I loved Dini's run.  He really fleshed out Gotham's history like the four families that built the city (the Waynes, Elliots, Cobblepot, and Sionis), why so many theme parks were built, and the legal businesses that support super crime.  Sadly all of this was dropped by Snyder's Court of Owls.

Dini is without a doubt one the best Batman writers and his run isn't an exception; sadly he was very ahead of his time because the editorial and readers alike were all too focused on the big Crisis events and Morrison's run on Batman just had more attention due to Damian's debut i think.
Quite ironic how nowadays a big portion of Batman fans are tired of the big crossovers, war-like battles and events on Batman comics and instead want a comeback to more self-contained and small scale stories, focusing on Batman as a detective; which is exactly what Paul Dini did on his run yet almost no one seemed to care.

Probably in my top five Batman runs of all time. Whether it was a one-shot or a multi-part arc, Paul Dini consistently delivered.

Dini's stories always achieve the most basic and important achievement in any story: making the reader go "wow, what happens next?" and without schmuck bait

This was honestly such an amazing era for batman fans, Paul Dini certainly restandardized alot of the elements for batman as a whole and made things fun while making much more sense. What an amazing writer to say the least

So glad you covered Dini’s run, which is easily the best run of the 2000’s next to Morrison’s. Sad that it’s not as appreciated by comic book fans as it should be given that it’s written by the guy who wrote BTAS

I wish Paul Dini came back to writing Batman, he's so good

ngl it’s a major shame how little DC respected paul’s work when he WAS writing for the comics, rather than when he wasn’t

I feel offended one of my comments wasn’t in that Grant Morrison collage…

This is how villains are born😂

I always thought "Scarface"was the Bat's most insane villain. I loved how they could've really kept you guessing. Whether Wesker's mind was that broken or was the original Scarface doll alive, being carved from the prisons hangman post where I think 113 of the worst criminals were hanged. They really blew it with the original Ventriloquist

10:05 I did pause actually, because this seemed like a good section break and I wanted to go get a drink. I did come back to let you talk about the Ventriloquist though.

They need to bring in Paul Dini for a long run on the main Batman series! He may be my favorite Batman writer. 🦇

As a Batman fan of over 40 years, Paul Dini's characters, character arcs and developments are second to none.
Say what you will about some of his plotlines and pacing - But his character motivations are always fantastic. A writer who absolutely loves the characters he writes.

Paul Dini never gets enough respect, Despite being one of the Best Batman Writers ever.  One of the most overlooked writers of all time tbh.
