I wanted to take a proper look at WellChild’s latest accounts, because once you start digging into the numbers, there are a few things that really make you stop and think.

For the year, WellChild spent about £2.21 million in total. Around £1.11 million of that was staff costs.

And just to be clear, that staff figure isn’t sitting separately on top of everything else-  those employee costs are already woven through the different areas of spending, including fundraising, programs, communications and support.

WellChild also spent around £773,000 on raising funds, and when you include charitable events such as the WellChild Awards, fundraising and major events make up roughly 45% of total expenditure.

So in this video, I’m going through the numbers category by category to see where the money actually went.
