I wouldn’t know how to live my life without Scott’s opinions on new games. His dk bananza take will determine whether I pursue medicine or not

"so far"
Video length: 44:49

I can't wait for the full 4 hour video

My biggest complaint is HOW LOUD THE ENGINES ARE. My god they gave us the best soundtrack ever just to hide it behind stupidly loud noises.

if they do add dlc, I hope we get the wuhu island tracks. They can add Wuhu island itself as part of the world and go from there

"IT'S FUCKING MARIO KART AGAIN!"

3:25 Scott, what the hell was that drift.

Finally time for the "But what does Scott think?"

when i started out, i thought the p switch missions were lame. now when i see one of my remaining blue ones out in the wild, i feel something again.

Now that my favorite YouTuber has made his opinion clear on this piece of electronic entertainment, I can now make an informed purchase thank you The Guy Who Owns Sonic Jam.

I’ve been playing MK8 since Day 1 on the WiiU. 11 years straight of the same game, so playing a new Mario Kart for the first time was uncanny

The main issue with routes in the default online race mode is that they tend to favor people who wait at the back, get powerful items, then use them all at the end. Intermissions tend to be designed in a way that makes it very difficult for top positions to pull away from everyone else, while actual tracks tend to have more nuanced tricks that allow top positions to spread out a bit from everyone else. Because of this difference, the current meta on intermissions is effectively to not play the game for the first 1-2 minutes, then spam last place items near the end to secure first. When the best way to play a game is to not play for two of three laps, that's just not fun.

Now, this isn't to say that intermissions are inherently bad, just that they don't really work as a replacement for the standard mario kart formula. In the context of rallies, they make a lot more sense I think

Thank god Nintendo upped the resolution so our favourite youtubers can take advantage of capturing in 4K

My biggest complaint with the game so far is that I had to play as all five of the babies in order to unlock every costume

Great point about the freeroam unlocks feeling meaningless when they could've done ALL THE COSTUMES, CHARACTERS, AND KARTS INSTEAD!

My biggest complaint is the fact that Lakitu picks you up in the open world EVEN IF you are not at the actual boundary of the map!   Agh!  It completely takes me out of the experience and feels so restrictive.

I think we can all agree this is not just Mario Kart 8 again.

i'm 100% convinced that the reason Pauline and DK only have 1 costume each right now is because the costumes they want to give them are from Bananza, and I would guess they're gonna wait about a month or so after it comes out before they update and add the costumes.

I can imagine the title being "Mario Kart World: Destination Somewhere"

one reason i think why MKWorld is more critical because this isnt just the latest MK, this is the MK for the next 10+ years. and is this enough for the next 10+ years? im not sure.
