High quality review and commentary - very balanced and clear. Great work!

I had the 2020 vanford and fished it hard
Big red fish and trout onshore fishing. Not one single problem with it. I just got the new one

Try the Shimano Stradic, you'll be amazed and will make a video praising it.

3 outta 6 of mine have done the same thing. Gomexus line roller replacement for the win

So far so good on my new 2500 Vanford FA after four months.

Reviews at this price point are very important. Whereas at one or two notches above entry level, my Shimano 2002 Aernos 2000 has won me similar level Daiwa reels that have been in the bin for many years now, even though it has been submerged in saltwater & rested on the sand because, back then, I had two infant boys learning to fish.
Admittedly, I do dream of the Twin Power features, but going much further up the ladder from one or two above entry level, has only burnt me in the past eg Shimano Rarenium.

I've got both Vanford and Twin Power. In the sense of  smoothness Twin Power is much better. Vanford is a good reel for light and ultralight in my opinion. I caught an 8+ kilo fish with  Shimano Vanford c3000 .... Not an issue at all -still works like new,  but Twin Power...is one of the best I own. Nice review.Thumb up.

I had the same pb with the noise on roller bearing on 2 of my 5 Vanford 2500 shg, I added a drop of oil in both reels and the noise is gone. Thank you for the video!

Thanks for the video

It's your opinion. I think it's a great reel

my 1 gen vanford still strong till now

Titanium Line roller replacement 👍🏻. Purchase online and its Cheap and easy to install. Vanford 2024 and 2019 feel very similar to the stella FK 2022. I have caught so many big fish on the vanford barra, queenfish, GT… vanford is finesse for light salt and fresh water but have used mine in crocodile infested brackish water everyday. All need to do is replace the line roller. Wipe it down after each fishing expedition and once a fortnight add oil to components that need to be oiled.

I own 3 2500s and fish once a week. All 3 developed this noise. Had to replace all 3 bearings. Tried different greases. Best was the Shimano grease. I get about a years use of each.

Glad I found your channel. Super review. I have a the 2020 model. It has been used once; super light but the lack of heft doesn`t inspire confidence. I will not be buying the 2024 Model! Tight lines

Sounds like a little farm tractor 😂
Cracked me up 😂😂

The random Toyota diss was hilarious 🤣

My Vanfords are older and no issues, sounds, malfunctions. Sometimes upgrades do look good, yet I do believe Shimano has been dropping quality to meet the new demanding BFS standards, lighter, smoother, faster. Maybe they have overstretched this time resulting in quality issues. Some of my Shimano reels are now 20 year old and look and fish as just unboxed.

I have replaced multiple line rollers on my 3 vanfords. Get about 1 years worth before they go noisy. I fish inshore salt water.  Seems when I bought cheap reels I never had this problem. So I paid more and got less on that roller.

Trying the Gomexus line roller and bearing now. Hopefully it lasts longer. If anyone has long term experience with this please comment.

Thanks

I was gonna get a ballistic mq but found a vanford on sale for $170. Hope im not disappointed. Love my tatula so this is surely an upgrade. Old tat. No mq.
