Kicking Mustang's Headshot Video Is Hurting Airsoft — Here's Why

In this video, I give my honest commentary on Kicking Mustang’s latest upload titled “They ban me but they can’t stop me..”

The video starts with a viewer calling out his behavior, and from there it becomes a compilation of close-range headshots — something I personally think sends the wrong message for the sport.

While some people defend his style of play, I found this particular video troubling. The tone, the celebration of painful shots, and the overall presentation feel more like provocation than gameplay. I believe this kind of content risks hurting the public image of airsoft.

KickingMustang enjoys being a bit of an asshole, sure. But when you play a game where people shoot each other with plastic BBs you don't get to cry about being shot with plastic BBS. What you do get to do is wear proper protection, or shut up.

my very first airsoft game was without face protection - instant regret. this happened pretty often by every player! even in cqb with a shotgun!!! next game i bought face protection, guess what... so much more fun, even with hart hitting point blank shots... i just didnt care bout it! it was my fault not being able to avoid this hit - thats it! deal with it - so tired of these ppl complaining bout headshots. face protection should be a requirement as eye glasses.

the most ill take it down to in speedsoft is a t-shit simply due to the adrenaline, overall i dont care about getting shot its literally apart of the game, my issue stems from cheaters, overshooters (and i mean purposefully shooting 5-10 times when behind) and just people thinking they are better either cause they work there, or they have a camera.

Km has videos where he deliberately shoots a guy in his twig and berries and others where he shoots a child on full auto with a gbb smg at a range close enough to have touched them. When he gets hit, he cries like a little girl in return. People dont like him not because of the headshots, they are part of the game, but because he always deliberately takes the most painful shots that he can get. You add the drama and the cheating(ie. Climbing trees and camping spawns) and he just isn't the role model airsoft needs.

as hes atested he takes his shots

I think it’s good to show why this isn’t the normal type of airsofter and not what is normally found on a typical field

@zonkedairsoft 1 year ago

I've had enough cheaters in a few years to see why KM would do it.
Spare your energy and don't mope about it.

He’s banned from the majority of the sites in the UK. My personal opinion is not good for insurance companies head shots happen yes but doing it deliberately and thinking it’s funny not good.

4:32 he starting dodging headshots so he aimed at his torso, when he squatted down he got the head shot

As someone who only wears eye pro and gets domed in the face and head a couple times nearly every game its absolutely fine if 1. They're behind cover and its all you can see 2. It was a stray round that had a funny flight path.
That is completely understandable, however aiming exclusively for the head with around 400 fps is an asshat move from a "experienced" player. No disrespect to the skill it takes to hit some of his shots but that doesnt give you a free pass to be an absolute douche.

People forget that james is a advocate for airsoft safety. He always advises to wear face protection. There is simply no guarantee possible to prevent getting hit in the face. Getting hit in the face is just simply a part of the game. Wearing full face protection is and should be the standard. Just wearing goggles is simply not enough. Getting hit in your face is your own fault. It is what you signed up for.

What really bothers me about this guy is that he has a ton of influence over younger players who might be thinking this is appropriate to do

@LarneDavies-w5s 9 months ago

Part of me thinks that he’s getting sniper hate, as nobody likes a bb from the blue; then again, going for headshots when complaints are made or just for a “challenge” is never justifiable.

Thing that bugs me is we all accept we can get hit in the head if it happens it happens but you don’t know what kind of eye and face protection the other person is wearing. What if a kid sees this and goes oh yeah that’s mint, goes to his local field with his buddies wearing amazon spec eye pro and ends up bursting his mate in the face thinking it’s funny and goes straight through his eye pro. We play airsoft to have fun at the end of the day intentionally aiming for something that will hurt or puts other people in danger or risking permanent damage has no place in airsoft in my opinion.

>"What does that mean, so you're going to hit him again in the head"
> The guy doesn't do that and hits another player.
WTF are you on dude? this video seems to only be trying to create drama.
I'm sorry I went to this video with an open mind, but you clearly already have a image on your head and no one will probably change your mind.

Dressing up as operators, spending real world money on replicas, buying Nogs, Thermals, and flashbangs... Then crying because someone shot you in the head with a 6mm plastic bb... The only thing i cant stand about airsoft is the amount of clowns that turn up on any given day😢...

He's a loser that gets off on hurting people.

I've encountered these types of people multiple times in different gyms. They always hit you hard during light sparring, crank your arm, neck or leg during grappling, just cowards trying to hurt you.

I remember one guy would constantly miss pads on purpose and hit people in head while you'd be drilling combinations. Coach saw it, put him in the ring with one of the more experienced guys that beat the breaks off him. He gave up like round 2 and never came back.

These types of people love to dish it out, but can't take it.
