I would love an entire 15 minute spoof standup with IHE imitating Jerry Seinfeld.

brainstorming all the most evil and spiteful movies i could possibly recommend. just know that  i didn't start. this.

Pulling out only the best movies for this cast 🔥

Over the Hedge does NOT deserve to be lumped in with Bee Movie and Shark Tale lol.

Update: Adum did not start the episode with a chicken jockey. I'm leaving the community. Sardonicast more like Stupidonicast. Rip

I'm fine with people having fun with the Minecraft movie (I'm NOT fine with people making a mess in the theaters and doing dangerous crap like bringing in live chickens and Molotovs), but I really don't want studios to see this movie's success and go "let's make our movie bad on purpose so then it becomes a giant meme". That sounds like an entertainment dystopia waiting to happen.

The Frank Zappa quote about nostalgia Alex brought up:

The really big news of the eighties is the stampede to regurgitate mildly camouflaged musical styles of previous decades, in ever-shrinking cycles of 'nostalgia.
(It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice—there are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia. When you compute the length of time between The Event and The Nostalgia For The Event, the span seems to be about a year less in each cycle. Eventually within the next quarter of a century, the nostalgia cycles will be so close together that people will not be able to take a step without being nostalgic for the one they just took. At that point, everything stops. Death by Nostalgia.)

The Chicken Jockey is basically 2025's Pickle Rick.  Or how everyone went fucking insane over the Szechuan Sauce at McDonalds.

i am absolutely destroyed that adam did not go watch it. my heart cannot take it, leaving this community forever

A Minecraft Movie was so weird because I CAN see some of the influence of Jared Hess besides the Napoleon Dynamite/Nacho Libre callbacks, but it’s mainly in the real world scenes where it looks like a charming indie film if you took one shot from those parts and posted it online without saying where it’s from. But the Minecraft world looks like something you’d see in an expensive Super Bowl commercial in how it’s shot and rendered. There were people behind this who loved playing Minecraft like Jack Black himself, and you can kinda see it on screen, but not as much as in the Mario movie. Both films had passionate fans of the IP behind them, but their passion wasn’t put into all the right areas I feel.

I’m happy for those who are enjoying it whether ironically or unironically (except those who go way too far with their reactions that make it hell for cinema employees) but I wish this movie had more surprises than what’s shown in the trailers like Warner’s own Lego and Barbie movies. As is, it’s a mindless, sometimes amusing popcorn flick that’s no more than a 5/10 for me.

Dude, Pride Block!

The spite era was my favorite era of the cast. Its cool to see them talk about deep movies, but it's even more fun to seeing them ramble about absolute maddening films.

So glad that someone mentioned the weird military trailers screening before the film. I wasnt sure if that was just my cinema.

I'm cackling at the mental image of Adum seething through A Minecraft Movie and a Bee Movie and plotting his revenge. I burst out laughing at his recommendation, he's coming out SWINGING

But does the Bee Movie insist upon itself??
That’s the question that nobody else seems to be asking.

Bee movie has exactly one funny joke. When the bugs are pretending to be dead on a windshield to hitch a ride, and the bee talks to one of them "playing dead", and the one guy is like "oh no, he's actually dead"

A Minecraft Movie AND Bee Movie in one episode?? My heart can't take it!

I hate the culture that emerged from this movie. People will say "oh it's so good that kids are excited about movies!" But the behavior in the theater mirrors a local theater showing a beloved B Movie, like Rocky Horror, or Troll 2, or The Room. So we've gone from "let's all celebrate these notorious yet iconic low budget movies at a local theater by patronizing their Business and essentially throwing a party in its honor" to "let's give Hollywood a bunch of money for a product movie that I don't care about because feeling like I'm in on the joke will make the ticket cost go down easier." I don't know man, I'm not one to judge fans of stuff very often, but man... Like, if you're grown doing this? Get your life together, bro.

I have no idea how Barbie didn't make it completely impossible to make movies like this. I guess the general public is as dumb and calculable as Hollywood thinks they are.

Nothing but pure kino this episode.

Someone please recommend Leaving Las Vegas with Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue. One of the most deserved academy awards of all time.
