The face he makes when he sings, "You both look like you're pretty groovy" just slays me every time!

R.I.P. Tim Curry✝️ He was a hell of an actor. His performance in Rocky Horror was legendary!

Riff Raff ( Richard O'Brien) wrote the whole thing. I played Riff Raff in the Cast that acts out the movie for around 10-12 years. Thanks for giving our hero a great send-off!!

It was a musical first and Tim was in the stage version first.  The scene here is straight after The Time Warp.

Tim Curry played the role on stage over 300 times before the movie was made. By then he was able to perfect every aspect, every detail of "Dr. Frank-N-Furter."

The Rocky Horror Show was originally a stage play in London. Tim Curry and some of the others you saw in the video were original cast members of the stage play. The movie producers brought them in to do the movie, which was a fantastic decision. The stage play was written by the actor playing the character Riff Raff, Richard O’Brien.

Classic, just a classic. The whole movie is a classic.

The best thing about this movie is that Tim Curry was Dr. Frank N. Furter on stage long before he set foot in front of a camera, so he was able to retain a strong theater presence through out the movie. Pronunciation, projection, and mouth movement is extremely important when on stage because people in the back row have to be able to both hear and understand you, so mouth movement helps with deciphering strong accents like he had. The first time he met the late Princess Diana (after the movie released), she knew him from the stage show more than anything. She was a real fan. RIP🕊

Yes! See it with a live audience. The audience participation is what makes it! Regards from Indiana!

Rest in peace to the legendary Tim Curry. RHPS is a cult classic!!!

The blond haired man who plays Riff Raff wrote everything…the play, movie, music:

Richard O'Brien wrote the songs, music, and original book/stage script for The Rocky Horror Show.
For the 1975 film adaptation, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the songs were also written by O'Brien, and the screenplay was co-written by O'Brien and the film's director, Jim Sharman.

This is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest character entrances in film history. Tim Curry was such a master of expression with both his voice and his face. RIP Frank.

Definitely check out the whole movie.

I've spent at least 100 or so Friday nights watching this movie! The audience participation made every showing an experience.

We performed The Rocky Horror Picture Show at our high school graduation celebration in the school auditorium as the “Abi Horror Picture Show”. It certainly caused a lot of very wide eyes – among both the younger students and the teachers. 😄

I’ve seen the film countless times, and it’s still absolutely brilliant.

When The Rocky Horror Picture Show is shown in cinemas, it’s important to bring the right equipment: rice, bread, a newspaper, a water pistol, … because the audience actually joins in and plays along with the film.

It was all the rage back in the day to go to this movie, dress up as the characters and stand up in the movie theater and act out some of the songs and movements. I agree Tim Curry’s voice and expressions were amazing and he created quite an experience for his audience.

Something really interesting happened to me with this movie: I saw it in the theater at a horror festival—I’m not that old, haha—but during that scene, I was totally captivated and loving the acting. I saw people walking out and thought, "Where are they going? It’s excellent!" That alone is why it became one of my favorite movies.

The four figures by the throne are from the original cast of the stage play *The Rocky Horror Show*.
The role of Frank N. Furter was also offered to Mick Jagger. He showed interest, but his management thought it would be bad for his image. 20th Century Fox’s second choice was then David Bowie. He, too, showed interest, but was unable to take the part because he was working on another film.
Tim Curry, who had already played Frank N. Furter on stage, was specifically requested by the director. Jim Sherman directed both the stage play and, later, the film, and he knew: Tim Curry is Frank N. Furter.

Don't dream it; be it   R.I.P. Tim Curry

A true legend. You should check out "I´m going home" from the same movie.

Yes, "The Rocky Horror Show" was the original stage musical. Then, it was adapted into a film musical called "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Both were written by out-of-work actor, Richard O'Brian, as a way to provide himself employment. And it worked. When the movie came out it sank like a lead balloon. No one went to see it. It was essentially a failure. But this was in the days of "midnight movies," where small theaters doing second-run films (or porn) during the day, would run "art" films on Friday and Saturday nights. Films like "Pink Flamingos," Eraser Head," "Liquid Sky," "Hardware Wars," and many other fringe films that would never be seen otherwise (in the days before home video), were made available to those who might want to see them. And so they started showing "Rocky Horror." And those mostly high school and college students discovered it, and its subversive messages of sexual fluidity, individuality and pride. Plus, the songs were good! It became so popular that it was shown regularly, again and again, and people started dressing as their favorite characters, and yelling at the screen in response to well-known lines of dialogue. And then bringing props of their own. It became a communal thing. And if some audience members had always wanted to try wearing fishnets and a bustier, well, here was their chance. It was a judgement-free zone. Eventually, in some theaters, audience members dressed as cast members would go on stage and pantomime to their favorite parts. I personally saw someone dressed as "Eddie" ride a motorcycle down the aisle to the stage, on cue. From the 1970's on, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has constantly been showing somewhere. Eventually, some theaters gave up showing midnight movies and took to showing only the Rocky Horror - every weekend. I was fortunate. I saw it at the beginning, when you could hear all the dialogue and see the perplexed expressions on the faces of audience members, and much later when it played to theaters full of costumed fans throwing toast and squirting squirt guns. Oh, and I also saw the play. I would recommend seeing the entire film, and then finding a theater running the fan version. It's great fun!

Tim Curry absolutely ate up the screen in this role!. Such a great film. You should watch the whole movie.
